Silly Question about components (maybe)
bigredishott replied to bigredishott's topic in Mid's and highs
I should have tried to swapped the mid-basses and xovers, seen if blown sounding speaker switched sides. Maybe Ill hook them back briefly, and try that. No way to check with a dmm (easier solution, could do now) -

The speaks specs = power range 25-100 watts RMS peak power handling 400 watts sensitivity 90 dB Amp 150++ RMS But, was not turned up to high. (I thought) The new eminem cd was louder than most. Should have set gains with DMM. Also, them coils were hot to the touch. And again thanks everyone. -

Anyone? -
OK here is the deal. I had replaced my infinity kappa perfects with kappas because, I thought a mid-bass was blown. Well tonight for the 1st time, I checked the ohms with a DMM, 3.5 on both mid-basses. I also checked the tweets 3.2 on both. I am wondering, if smoked xovers could have made my mid-bass sound blown? I know the xovers got hott! The plastic the copper is wound on partially melted. Could only the xover be bad, is there a way to test with a DMM? Also, if anyone else owns a set of these kappa perfects 6.5" ,if the would put a DMM on them and give me a reading of the ohms on tweets and mid-bass. Thanks and sorry for sounding like a dumb ass, please be kind. PS The mid-basses do not smell blown.

I would love to attend a show, I haven't been to one since 01. If anyone knows of any shows in my area , Springfield, MA. Please let me know! Thanks PS plus I would like to see what kind of numbers I could hit. lol

I picked up 2 sets of the kappa component's for like $130 a set on ebay, for front stage. So far, I only have one set installed (want to glass the doors) I love them! I also have a PDX 4.150 for my highs (turned way down, it murdered my perfects lol) Again, I have to say sound great, and is efficient because its a class D amp.

4 Week yr old fosgate component set "tweets blown!" what do i do!
bigredishott replied to 30Hz.wav's topic in Mid's and highs
Good luck, should have bought from a dealer. I had purchased a set of kappa perfects from a discount online site, blew a mid bass in 2 months infinity wouldn't even talk to me. can always sell the mid-basses and xovers on ebay or try to by another set of tweets. -
The van is tight! Good luck getting the numbers you want. Keep us posted on it, when they come in and, besure to post some pics!

I need some help.
bigredishott replied to Crump's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
mine seemed to have slight rust on it and fell down. its a big piece of track, prob about 12inches or so. I can't really see how you could have broke it, unless you were yanking on it or something -

I know mine does when I shut the door too hard. Mine is because a pice of track in the door broke off. I noticed it when i was replacing my window, after it was shot out. If you ever take your panel off, feel at the bottom of the door, maybe the same for you. -

Time to move! lol -
Sorry, I have had a few Heinekens. I figured he was smart enough to get the 64 in vista, would do the same for xp. I havent played win7 too much (had the beta for a min). And my certs are just some CompTIAs (easy to get) I am working on a few Cisco Certs! And, I never doubt anybodys knowledge. I was just trying to get out the fact that vista is garbage, and thats why they have win7 coming replace so soon.
