  1. Pull interior out, cut and lay wood to the contour of car, cut holes for speakers/ports then put together in car. Try to get started with pulling the interior out of the back seat area. Take some pics and then ask more questions. Any brands you want to use? What would be your price range? The bigger the power, the more money. You can build it strong and small at first,....just to get the feel. Then move on to bigger builds and more power. A small "cheap" build can get 150db's
  2. I got 8 10" subs in the trunk of a Chevy Avaio! I'm sure you could build a wall. That's a nice car, by the way. Is it yours? Most of those on the road are beat and broken.
  3. Hey thats a good start! My opinion is to stay away from any oval/square speakers. Try to replace with a round speaker making adapter plates if nessary. Shoot for the components and don't be afraid of powering them.
  4. Seems like the Asian "junk" has turned out to be the "better". Sorry to hear of that, hope it turns out good!
  5. Welcome to the show! Your build looks good and to the quality of it is to the beholder. I'm a firm believer in junk myself:), but your stuff is very nice!
  6. I think it will work well. Considering the amount of room you don't have in the cab and how you are going to overcome that. As long as you use a sub with HUGE Xmax and move tons of air, you'll be fine!
  7. Those are some good stories! I always love the "pissed" ones. When I was 16(1996), my cousin had a minivan with 12 12" pioneers and about 2400rms to the subs. We were at the county fair for my cousins GF's beauty padgent that went on past midnite. Well I got tired of hanging around, so I got the keys and headed to the parking lot. While they were still mingling at the stage, I was in the van jamming. I start playing some bass music from an MTX CD(mid 90's), opened all the doors, tuned it out some, and just played with it for about 20minutes when some guy pulls next to the van bitchin. "Turn that sh*t down, people are trying to sleep, some of us have to work for a living, go play that sh*t at the police office". You could tell the guy had bed head and he was in his Pj's with pillow face. Keep the stories going! :hairtrick:
  8. Now that looks good! Just love the way the head meets the subs.
  9. Any stories about pissing people off "in stores"? Say like, your in a parking lot and managers or store owners come out pissed because your system is to loud. Any good stories?
  10. Could affect tuning, possible deeper tune
  11. If the subs have a rubber type surround, temp will affect performance. This is why you see speakers at concerts with woven cloth type surrounds. Did you have the subs at winter? Rubber surrounds suck in the cold, but awsome in the hot
  12. I'm glad you did share the build with us...................VERY NICE! This is one sweet build!
  13. That is one nice van! I love the turntables. I can promise you those pyles(unless they are Eminence US made) are not a loaded horn sub. Better fit for bandpass. The Soundstreams will be a good upgrade and I'm going to say a few db's over what you get now.
  14. I gots to go with what the guy said. Almost imposible NOT to be loud. Why go with 4 12's, get 6;)
  15. Why the trunk? do a wall! I did 8 10's in a Chevy Aveo trunk with 1500 rms, ....It was stupid Go with the 10's
  16. young pups Happy 22nd birthday! Hope yours turn out for the good!
  17. This is very true! But if you are like most guys and want 40hz below, sens does not matter, air movment does, shaking the vehicle apart does, vibration does and so on with the BIG excursion subs. Also a low sens creates a shorter wave and can be heard at the vehicle. Unlike sub with high sens, mostly can be heard inside a home/building where the bass gets trapped and gains 9dbs, unlike low sens subs. Also a low sens sub plays 10x's cleaner and bandwidth is wider. A high sens sub tends to become a one note sub and distorts easier. ALL ABOUT THE TRADEOFFS!
  18. Do you want an "air cmpressor" or "noise transducer" Most preffer both
