True i had a 42" and sold it as it was WAY to big. Sucked for gaming too as you have to literally look a round LOL. -
Do I need neg. run of 1/0
97SSBlazer replied to Loudintha509's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
That's what i thought. I have seen people drill holes through the sheet metal in their trunks and go straight to the frame. Like I said i have never done it my self so i don't know. I always do the "big 3" and call it good. Most people around MI don't have anything over 2K watts so that maybe why i have never seen it... -

a ground should never be longer than 3 ft.... So IF running all the way to the front battery is better, how much better is it really? That and 0awg isn't cheap. I have never seen anyone run a ground from front to back, I'm NOT saying if its better or worse im just curious... -
Bought another one...

The Polk DB"S are our most popular 6.5's. They retail for 109.99. there not the cheapest but still people love them. I must have 12 boxes in my own garage that i have installed in in friends and families cars, everyone likes them. The component set is even better but retails for 199.99 there not as popular. I really like the DB's just off deck or amped. The MOMOs however dont sound the greatest off deck, they NEED an amp. -

Since i just got a job installing at a local shop i pulling EVERYTHING from the Black blazer and installing it in the Blue blazer. I Have BIG plans for the black truck . 4 15's or 6 12's will sound great in black truck. i just shampooed the blue trucks carpets today and it came out real nice. I Have a bumper on order. I still looking at junk yards but its hard to find that color. My painter will clean up the new blazer this spring. I had to get a bigger truck for a DD, I didint like my standard cab S10. there was no room for a guy my size (6' tall 260LBBS). Let alone speakers -
I bought another blazer . I now Own 3 2nd gen truck. 2 blazers and an S10. The S10 is a 94, the blue blazer is a CLEAN 96 and the Black and silver blazer is a 97. I don't know why but even after all the problems i have had with my black one i still love the S series Trucks. Let me know what you think of the new ride. Its going to be my all year daily driver. The S10 is getting sold and the Black one will be a Nice weather summer cruiser. the black one : before paint

L.E.D Indicator Fuses!!

a fuse is a fuse? i guess. If you want a LED always on than get them. I don't see any point to use them under the hood but if you had a nice clean amp rack than maybe it would be worth it. -
Man in your current setup your not powering those type R's very well. I run 2 type R 15's in my blazer @ 1000 RMS EACH. I know there only rated at 750 but with the CLEAN power and a Proper box they can handle more. I used to have 2 L7 12's that hit 144.6 DB and the R 15's are much louder and lower. Probably closer to 146 DB now. They whole electrical issue Really depend on the car itself. Every car has different demands for STOCK power consumption. So until you actually get your car/truck it will be hard to help you other than the basics. If you get a HO alt you probably wont need a back battery as long as you have a GOOD battery up front. Watch your voltage because low Volt/Amp can be harmful to your equipment. If you decide on the blazer Let me know as i have a lot of experience and pictures on how to upgrade everything. Its all about the install and box. I have seen junk walmart shit bang in decent boxes with a clean install...

Never had it dyno'ed so im unsure. Its a Jasper Performance crate engine, 266 C.I. (262 4.3L bored over .030 With over sized bearings and pistons.) There was a cam option but when i had the motor installed The U.S. had the whole gas crisis so i stuck with a Stock cam. I was told with a cam, lifters, and 1.6 roller rockers i could gain 40-70 HP so when the warranty expires i might install the cam kit. Like i said its no race truck but its a Fun truck to cruise in the summer.

here is my truck walking a 96 (fwd) Cutlass. Don't get me wrong that cutlass is quick it has a Just broken in GM replacement engine i rode in it ad was surprised. Now neither one of these are "strip" cars or even really fast just showing that the HEAVY 4X4 4door blazer With a BANGIN system, Heavy 20 x 10" rims and a full tank can do. Let me know what you guys think...

Chevy 4.3L Alternator Mod
97SSBlazer replied to 97SSBlazer's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Nice the alt i used come on the police package trucks and is "100% guaranteed" when i called the company that manufactured it they said that my alt. is somewhere around 160 amp output so im happy. Sorry if this was a repost. the cavalier does have a slightly different alt though. If your gonna do this mod make SURE you get the one with the metal cooling fins NOT plastic as those are not "the heavy duty version" as he told me on the phone. The plastic one still does the rated 140 though, just not the 160 of the HD. And if anything you would need a SMALLER belt in my case because the pulley was WAY smaller. Sorry for the triple post if must have freaked out. -
