  1. I'd tune a little higher unless you only play C&S stuff....
  2. Tuned too low is probably causing the sub to roll off on the top end too quickly. I like DD/AQ's for the punch they have as it's perfect for the music I mostly listen to. 4.25-4.5cubes net, 16^2 port area tuned 35-38Hz should be plenty punchy. Also LPF 80-100Hz... x2 on your port, way over the 9:1 ratio...
  3. assuming you have some electrical to support the amp at .5ohm it would actually push the HDC a little better. Next question: how you fitting an 18 in the trunk of a Camry? I have an 18" HDC in the trunk of my Altima but it took some metal cutting/work to make it fit...
  4. a 15" sub will need a bigger enclosure...
  5. what are the specs on the box as AQ's like larger enclosure and more port area then a lot of subs. Tuned around 36-38Hz would "probably" be good for your peak...
  6. if you do a blowthrough then ditch the 8's, cone area moves air down low. And would you really cut up a truck for a few 8's...
  7. I'd be careful with a HPF at 2500 for your tweets as not many will play that low. Either a full format or horn then I could see it... PRS-80 should do all that you need as I run the older 880 in both of my set ups and love the active/tuning ability of that deck.
  8. 2 8's just aren't going to move much air at 20Hz, and like mentioned already, at 17Hz below tuning you'll probably hurt the subs. get some cone area and you'll move air...
  9. why would you want to burp at 20Hz? And yes playing that far below tuning will generally not be good for the sub, especially if you have RMS power or more...
  10. ok Einstein, where is this magical power coming from Why not do 10 runs of 1/0 to really get some power back there.... i was not expecting to get more power back there on current setup i was talking about another setup you don't make any fuckin sense...
  11. Listen to your music sitting still, then listen to it going 40mph. Huge difference. He has a awsome goal imo I can play my music at 80mph with the windows down, makes no diff....
  12. SDS = sound deadener showdown. Good products and lots of info on the site. Next question: will you ever be driving around with no music and wanting no noise at all? Meaning I don't see the reason for your goal unless you plan to operate a mobile library...
  13. Check into AT and also SDS. I meant the glass itself as it's not that great at keeping out noise...
  14. still small on port area. And do port in the middle as that will be your bracing. No need to double baffle for SDC's. 4.5^3 net off a 1200 in my trunk did a 142 with no testing. Decent for a daily set up...
  15. This is what I want... I want it so quiet that I cant even hear myself think So quiet that if my wife was outside bitching at me I would not hear a word So you plan to deaden the windows also, otherwise you will never get it "that" quiet. And why not AT products? And why can't you go over the stuff you have on now if it's not falling off?
  16. ok Einstein, where is this magical power coming from Why not do 10 runs of 1/0 to really get some power back there....
  17. I did a drop in comparison of the CA 8's vs Selenium 8's. Review is on csco...
  18. waste of $$$, inputs on the amp are not your problem as others have pointed out...
  19. You need to fuse each end of the POS run, somewhere near the batts.
  20. 4.25 - 4.5net, 35hz tuning, 16^2 port area
  21. Sounds good, even on my PC speakers. How much power you pushing to the AQ tweets?
  22. FYI........true midbass is NOT a 100HPF with a 18dB slope. Yes the Seleniums will have punch to them, but they are not a midbass speaker by any means. And yes I've run them and true midbass speakers with a 60Hz HPF. HUGE difference...
  23. Volume is a little on the big side, but port area is definitely small. I like 16-18^2 per net cube. If you can make the port wider that would also shrink down the volume some. Tuned a little low IMO, as I never go below 35Hz with the AQ's. Would take some work, but I'd give it more port area and see if you like it. Also are you 100% sure the amps are set up properly? Are you running them strapped? I'm assuming you had a single amp when you had 1 sub and have now stepped up, so maybe your amp settings are wrong.
  24. Remove most of the screws/fasteners that hold on the body panels, will flex and rattle like a bish
