Maybe i'm reading that wrong- But I hope you don't think that only one kind of material will work and the rest will just fall apart. It's like the "Bondo is the devil" claim. I use it bescause I can get it cheap and plentiful, but some claim "that stuff doesn't work"... Well seems to work just fine for me-it's all a matter of not asking it to do more than its capable of. Just know the limitations of what ur using and just about anything is "usable". Same goes for cloth material. Just FYI yall-Don't be disuaded from trying something just because you don't think you have "the right materials".

(Old school) 2 kicker Comp VR 15's run by the 2 rear channels of a soundstream Reference 604 (about 300rms total/150rms each) 3cft each sealed. Subs cost $150 ea retail, amp was bought 2nd hand for $150 ran that setup HARD for 4-5yrs until the amp died. stock alt, Lightning audio bluetop under hood. 4-Kicker CompVR 12's (from right b4 they stopped having the big K logo) run by a Phoenix Gold Tantrum 600.4 (I paid $444 BNIB)-2 channels bridged to each pair @ 2 ohm. bout 300rms/pair. This setup would be running today (I believe) if i dint "experiment" w/ too much power. 2 subs burned when I put a 1200.1($409 on sale) to each pair. The other 2 I sold. That setup ran for about 3-4yrs and won me the trophies in my avatar. It was only after that that I put one T1200.1 to my 4 new (2005) CVR 12's and thats how it is today.

This is easily gonna be nicest groundpounder out there when it's all said and done. Maybe only edged out by the Rezcalade as my all time favorite.

The opening I used as the "chimney" was already there-I didn't have to cut any metal in that case-just cut the rear deck material which was plastic...however a dremel with a cuttoff wheel, an angle grinder, a saws-all, or even a jigsaw with a high tooth count metal cutting blade would work fine just get some eye and ear protection while ur doin cuz it'll get real loud right by ur head in that tight of a space and the metal shards in the eyes=no fun. Worst case scenario-drill some pilot holes and bust out the keyhole/hacksaw. I'd say look at a rotozip that comes with the anglegrinder/cuttoff tool attachment included. I used a rotozip with the 1/8" spiral upcut bit-ok for plastic but not gonna do it for sheet metal.

I thought it was obvious/common knowledge that with a TL comes the RTA too? I would have it in there for that reason too, but I bet the "proof" requests will be more on spl side than the RTA/SQ side. Should be nice to be able to put all the SQ doubting haters that said the Hoe prolly sounded bad SQ wise to shame as well. 360 should make it easier for that kinda tuning too I'm sure.

Yea If someone else didn't I woulda said that. I love having the spl meter on my epic 160 and even tho it's "not a legit TL" number I can still give folks "some kinda proof" at any given moment. A TL on the indash screen would be my all time OMG addition in this case-I dunno If it's a big deal to you guys but I think it'd be sick to have a built in TL or even the ability to hook up the mic and check output at DASH/headrest/port etc and just play wround with it since I'm POSITIVE the "what kinda numbers?" question will be x1000 once it's done. I know you have a TL and could throw it in there any time but having one onboard all the time would be pimp IMO. Great job on the dash thus far-I love the look of the 360 on screen too-Big pimpin as usual. Chicken: You lucky dawg you.

Dead on my thoughts exactly! hahaha!I was like- I know STEVE is a lil taller than me but pushin 200lb/+....& Burrito Looks like a BEAST! I just chilled at a friend/coworker and his family till 4am and drove home sober but with a punding headache that lasted till about an hr ago (4:45pm) when I finally woke up, had some food, tylenol, and coffee. Feelin much better. Then the phone startin buzzin from folks wantin installs done....this might be a good yr for me build wise. I'll post it if happens I promise. Happy New Year folks!

But then again, I'm sure that setup was no drop in the bucket..esp knowing how you and chicken always have to do it the biggest. I (personally) wouldn't expect that kinda treatment for some lower dollar setup goin in a ride that stands to get far less publicity...but it's tyte that he's got ur back on this one. Looks like a pimp setup.

Yessir. "chance favors the prepared" I try to bring the right equipment to the task @ hand, so I grabbed up a line driver B4 i do My next build and I'm trying to get the deck output back up to par or better b4 I continue. I have 4 TC-1000 12's, 3-PG Tantrum 1200.1's, 4-PG Tantrum 600.4's, and 3 Cadence Elite 6.5" comp sets to play with for my car.... and I plan on eDeading the entire car... Add in a Kinetic HC2400 or 2, an Iraggi alt, 6 Gallons of Fglass resin, Plexi, neon, motorized amp racks... Should be NUTS when I get to rebuild next summer.

I have been running Alpine exclusively in my ride for a whiel now and woul've sworn by it except in the last few yrs they have (as mentioned above^^) dropped a lotta nice features and made the use interfaces lame. MAIN gripe-the face is a PAIN IN THE ASS to get on and off- to the point that I leave it on most of the time... defeating the whole point of having a detach. face deck.

Nope. No interest in an Iphone @ all. I didnt think so either. I went from a 4v Alpine deck to a 2v Alpine and lost almost 3db. and....turning my gains up doesnt bring it back. The mids aren't as clear w/ the lower voltage either. 1: correct "in theory" but I couldn't "get that 2-3db back" w/ more gain so I dunno 2: Well, the epic-160 does help but I had it before too so it's apples to apples, it doesnt make up for te voltage drop thats for sure. Plus-the voltage drop effected mids and subs so i need it across the board. I DO also have a 6 channel line driver but I havn't had time to try it out yet (PG TLD66) But we'll see when I get time to pick up some more rca's and re-rout everything.

I knew that would come up. Ebay store. I totally lucked out. It was listed the deck w/ the ipod cord for auction & I bid $225. shipping was $25, so it woulda been $250 shipped. I lost the auction cuz I was DEAD tired after my last final and I took a nap and slept thru the end of the auction so It went for $227.50+s/h.....but the winning bidder backed out or something cuz I got a "2nd chance offer" from the seller/store that said I could buy it now for $250shipped. Yay me. $250 shipped w/ ipod cord BNIB.
