  1. Loudness is not your friend. Set your EQ before you set your amp. With that amp you have no choice but to underpower them, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Underpowering your subs will not hurt them, they just won't be as loud. Whatever you do, don't try to make them play louder than the power you have available.
  2. Clipping has nothing to do with the amount of power you are running. Clipping at any amount of power can ruin your speakers. You can't always hear clipping either. Your best bet is to set you Sub W level on your headunit first, then set your amp. Leave bass boosts, loudness and all those things off or at 0. Set your Sub W level on your HU to max without clipping, then your amp to max without clipping. Then you can always back your Sub W level down for less bass, but you never have to worry about going to much.
  3. There is something about consequences, responsibility and accountability that just doesn't exist anymore. How hard is it to understand if you play with fire, you might get burned?
  4. Thanks for the corrections, I did not know that. When I re-glued the surrounds on my subs I had no problems with VC alignment on either sub after replacing both complete surrounds. I was told as long as the spider was still in good shape there was no reason to worry about shimming. Anyway, glad you cleared it up for him!
  5. IIRC, if the spiders are still intact then your VCs will still be aligned correctly.
  6. says account suspended for me. is that the same as the previously mentioned problems?
  7. I was thinking lifter ticking, but if it a fairly new engine, that may not be it. The engine does a bit more work to maintain idle when in gear vs. when in park, that could cause lifter ticking while in gear and not in park (I think).
  8. can you isolate where it is coming from, or a guess what area of the engine it is coming from?
  9. I think it has less to do with him being worried about someone stealing his HU and more to do with someone knowing there is anything in there at all. A faceless HU draws attention.
  10. The 3sixty is a great option for factory integration, but go ahead and get the .2 That is all you do to hook it up, setting it up is a whole new ballgame.
  11. Man, it someone would have told me that before i got my first one. bah, never mind i still would have done it. mine are small though. i can't really do anything cool since i teach. oh well.
  12. yes, i didn't type my response out very well. What i meant to say was i agree with you it isn't likely a bent axle based on what you said. i left that part out. my bad
  13. yeah, i did enjoy the song. even if i have no hate for LBJ (or love) it was a funny song.
  14. but, what would college have done for him? i think it was a bitch way to leave Cleveland, but he was never going to win a title there. i also don't wish any harm on the man because he didn't need college to make it big.
  15. most people try too! What I was trying to say was a speaker (all things being equal) will sound exactly the same inverted or not. Of course, all things won't be the same if you simply invert the subs in the same box as the net volume of your box will change. Even then, a speaker will not magically sound better if it is inverted. Of course, I am answering his question assuming when he asked if it will sound better he means that from an SQ perception and not just to mean will it be louder.
