ANL FUSES!
Marlo Stanfield replied to 03navi's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
Why would u wanna use fuses larger than recommended?? The fuses are rated like that for your protection, so that if anything were to short or too much current to flow they will blow and cut it off. -
To the OP - You will be perfectly fine with (2) 250a or higher alts, 4 big batts, and a bunch of 1/0 or larger wire... I'd really suggest just spending a lil extra money on better batts, if your gonna spend that much on the rest of your setup don't skimp. Really is no need to have 3 HO alts on less than 6000w, since those amps won't be doing that power especially not after impedance rise. Your link to the Jeep build doesn't show anything, it says "your IP has been banned by the admin"

What size level 4 do u have??

That amp is a serious current whore and still doesn't do rated power... Plan on having a pretty stout electrical setup if u wanna run this amp.

x2 on the SQ of Solo-X 18s... The only worse sub I've ever tested of any size was an MTX RFL. Honestly why not just get another ZX2500.1?? They are great amps, rock solid build quality, and will do rated power plus a little more. Comparing the 2 CVX 15s to a Solo-X 18, I'd run the CVXs over the X daily. If you were trying to build a burp only setup then I'd run the X before the CVXs.

I'd just have a couple of like 3/4" or 1" dowels, each on going a different direction.. Like one going the width of the box(try to center then as much as possible, that's where the box will be the most prone to flex), one maybe between the woofer(or as close to being), and one more going the depth of the box. As long as it's calculated into the box design then there is no such thing as overkill for bracing.

What did they tell you at the doctors regarding whether it has to be moist or dry?? -
What kind of budget do u have?? Because running a real 4000 watts will cost a lot more money than subs/amps alone. What do u drive + how much space are u willing to use?? Can/will you build your own enclosure + install the system yourself?? What notes your system will pick up is largely based upon the enclosure that it's in and how you adjust your amp/EQ settings. When doing the big 3 upgrade leave the stock wiring and just add another run of larger wire, preferably 1/0 or larger.

tip of the day

That's a nice tip and isn't very expensive to get into, but the potential to make a lot of money is there... My best big dollar stock is Apple, like so many others. I bought $12,000 worth of shares last November @ like $85 a share and right now it's sitting right around $190-200 depending on the day. I'm gonna hold on to it for awhile and in like a year or more if it's still around the same price I'll sell it and take my profit. -
How is that murdered out?? The paint looks almost like a dark titanium and where I come from murdered out if matte black paint, blacked out windows, and all black rims + badges. The paint on the '51 buick in the first picture(the car next to it) is matte black from what I can tell. The rims on both cars IMO are ugly too.

42" plasma for my guest room, 50" plasma for my bedroom, 19" LCD for kitchen/dining room area, around $1500 in jewelery for like $400 for my mother, $20 shop vac from Home Depot, new Router w/ interchangeable heads, router table, new bits for router, and a new barbecue set that has the same handles as screwdrivers(it's cool as fuck looking). Only thing that I forgot to get was a new camera, so I can actually snap sum pics + vids for all of y'all here. My boss asked me what I wanted/needed and I told him a new cam so hopefully that works out. I wanted to basically all of it even before the black friday sales were around, all in all I saved a couple grand by getting my ass up early. I paid my 19yr old cousin $100 to stay in Walmart overnight to get the 3 TVs for me while I hit Macy's, Home Depot, and Sears for the rest of the shit.

If you're planning on having dual alts then I'd suggest something like a Northstar NSB-70 under hood + (2) NSB-125s in back. Obviously using the appropriate power/ground wires also and you should have a pretty rock solid electrical setup for that power. Personally I'd just get 1 big alt, nice under hood batt like mentioned above, and (3) NSB-125s out back.

Depends on what line of Knu you're ordering... The klm (or whatver the CCA wire is) isn't the best wire out there but for the price is pretty good. The kollosus flex is some of the best wire made but of course it's price reflects it. The highest quality "cheap" power wire made IMO is ultraflex welding wire from Welding Supply.

It's impossible to know ahead of time or even make an educated guess.. Plus 150db is a good amount louder than 145 is, so that range even though it's "only" 5db is pretty deceiving. If you're trying to put up numbers in a daily setup, then W3s sure as hell aren't the best choice. What vehicle is this going in?? The OP said he's gonna spend about 3 grand on the setup and with that much invested, it would be pretty sad not to be able to do a 150 with the product that is available these days.
