  1. Agreed 100% with all of this... Especially since one of the choices in the poll is a woofer that hasn't even been released yet.
  2. You can only wire a single D4 woofer to 2 or 8ohms... Even if you have a D2 Type-X I would never suggest running it on 1500+ watts daily.
  3. You're really gonna have to get the sand out of your vagina if you really want some help from people around here... Gotta realize this is an online forum and be able to take a little criticism from people.. Plus swear words aren't blanked out - fucking lol I highly doubt you'll be doing any sort of legit hairtrick with a single 18 off 3k in that large of a vehicle. You need to list what dimensions you have available and I'd suggest using exposport's box calc if you wanna do it yourself. Or you could find someone on the forum that does designs and pay a small fee for one to be done for ya. As far as the enclosure is concerned I'd suggest like 6.5-7ft3 @ 33-35hz w/ 90-105in^2 of port area with the power you have.. Also I hope that you have done some proper electrical upgrades to be able to back up that AP 3k since it is quite the power hungry amp.
  4. It's either an SSi, SSX, or CSX... If it's an SSi(which from the pics I'd guess that it is) or CSX then I would never pay $399 used for one. If it's an SSX and is in fully working order, then only if you could bargain him down to like $300-325 cash it would be worth buying IMO. The SSX is a damn good woofer for daily and has tons of output potential with the right power.
  5. If you're gonna be running an amp for your mids, running the cars electrical needs, and the sub amp then I'd suggest going bigger with the battery if you can fit it. If you can't fit a larger one under hood then I'd suggest getting like an HC 800/1000 or similar under hood and a HC1800 or larger in back. As far as electrical upgrades are concerned then you really never can be too safe. You're spending all this money on a system, then you need to do the same with getting a proper electrical to back it up.
  6. Looks like it but not 100% positive, I'm sure someone on here who follows his builds closer would be able to tell ya(if Steve doesn't answer it himself).. The guy who made that post prolli just wanted to throw out some enclosure pictures because he doesn't have pics of prior work he's done, if any.
  7. Very nice always will be a great setup when an entire pallet of woofers is involved.
  8. Nice ride man... As far as the system is concerned, what kind of budget are u on for the system?? I'm guessing you want to keep it pretty lightweight in back since it seems you're trying to build a pretty fast ride.
  9. I wouldn't run that kind of power to a single 4xl for daily by any means... If you're talking about a pair of them taking 4400w then they will take the power quite easily. But like any woofer on any power make sure the gains are set correctly, avoid clipping, and pay attention to sounds/smells when running them hard.
  10. What are the coils on the subs?? We can't help u without knowing that.
  11. Just make sure that you pay it off at the end of each month in entirety. Credit cards are great as long as you use them properly. When applying for cards just make sure to read all the fine print and keep track of all fees you might incur.
  12. Out of the 2 I'd suggest going with the 4 10s ported... But why change from the 2 15" Nightshades at all?? In the right enclosure it should be a good amount louder than either of these proposed setups.
  13. Happy birthday man... All the young ppl on this site make me feel old and I'm only in my mid 20s.
  14. Sounds like a good plan but personally I'd switch over to aeros + do some minor interior box mods to see an increase also.
  15. It's prolli a combo of low power, poor enclosure(not just that it's a prefab, it's very small for a 15 making it even less efficient off that little power.. If you had at least a larger pre-fab enclosure you would see a difference, let alone a properly built one), and settings likely aren't correct among other things. What are the box specs for that pre-fab??
  16. What I mean was.... It's not pointless to use the motor in a different design but to recone the actual woofer using the original basket + OEM recone itself IMO would be pointless. You're gonna spend at least $100 for the recone, then factor in glue, labor, etc and it will cost much more than a new woofer would.
  17. If you're getting a 12" woofer like a BTL or similar woofer, I wouldn't expect to save much weight either way... I'd bet that a 12" BTL is damn near the same weight or more than your 9515 does. But for a single 12 off that power I'd look into a Mach5 SPL. They can take almost any power you can throw at them, fairly priced, great CS, and great build quality.
  18. I prolli have around 800lbs or so in the back of my Expo and it handles the weight just fine... Like mentioned before by others of course it's gonna decrease acceleration, make braking a little longer, and decrease MPG. It really does depend on the vehicle though and where the actual weight is distributed.
  19. Obviously you've never seen the first Fast & Furious movie, it was a joke saying "More than you can afford pal"... Remember the scene where Paul Walker + Vin Diesel pull up next to the Ferrari while in the orange Supra. Paul Walker asks the Ferrari drive "What's the retail on one of those?", they Ferrari driver responds with "more than you can afford pal, Ferrari". It's sad that I have to explain this.
  20. I think you have a little bit of a problem with Guitar Hero... How many hours of the day do u actually see sunlight??
  21. For the price that you can sell the Solo-X for especially if you do so locally, then you shouldn't have any issues picking up a 9515g... Even with the less cone area I'd be willing to bet quite a large sum of money that a 9515g would be louder off the same power in the right enclosure.
