I love Rockford Fosgate but those 2 amps aren't enough power to push those P3's. I would get the 2 ohm dvc's and that Kenwood mono amp based on what Crutchfield has for the money you want to spend.
-
If you haven't bought the subs yet then get the 2 ohm dvc's. As far as the amps go, I would get the Kenwood mono amp. Even if it's overrated and only puts out 700 rms it's still more than the 2 Fosgates will put out. And I'm assuming you are talking about this Kenwood? http://www.crutchfield.ca/Kenwood_KAC_9104.../113kac9104.htm

Man you guys don't have much of a selection do you. There aren't any 1 ohm capable amps so you will be underpowering them with a 4 ohm amp unless you pay a lot more money. Can you replace the subs for the 2 ohm dvc's?

18...credit card?
melonhead replied to The Big Chris's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
Getting credit these days is harder than before. Apply for a normal credit and see if you get approved. If you don't, then see if you can get a secured credit card. A secured credit card is where you give them like $250 or $500 of you own money and that is your credit limit. Once they see you can make your payments on time and in full, they'll give you your money back and up your credit limit and you'll have a normal credit card. -
I went to high school with Ephraim Salaam (OT for Detroit Lions). He was 2 or 3 years ahead of me. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/stats?playerId=1583 I played little league baseball with Lance Briggs (LB for Chicago Bears) and Nick Johnson (1B for Florida Marlins). http://espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=4526 http://espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?playerId=4240

Thanks guys. I guess I'm just afraid to do it in my own. I'm not very handy and I've had bad experiences in the past with wires/electrical. Plus I have absolutely no tools. lol I PM'd Red Navi to email me the picture of the big 3 on a Civic and I'll take a look at it and if I feel comfortable maybe I'll take a stab at it. I can borrow tools from my buddy or even my father-in-law. I didn't think I was pushing enough wattage to need a 2nd battery? So what exactly are caps good for? Anything?
-
I guess I shouldn't say he can't do it, but more like he doesn't want to do it. We both work a lot of hours and have small children and rarely have the same time off together to hook up so he can work on it. I'm willing to take it to a shop to do but not sure what kind of price I'm looking at. I know they are going to overcharge to begin with but is it worth paying a shop vs. just adding a cap? Marlo, are you saying to replace the battery or add a 2nd battery? Will upgrading stop the lights from dimming? If a bigger and better battery will work then I'll just do that instead.

I've got some questions about doing the big 3 upgrade and adding a cap. My headlights are dimming like a mofo at night and I need to fix it ASAP. I know you guys will say do the big 3 but I'm not sure I can really get it done right now unless I have a shop do it or find someone who can do it. I know you guys don't like caps but I'm just looking for a short term solution right now. I've got a 2003 Civic with stock battery and stock alternator. I'm using this kit for my wiring http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/pr...S&p_status= I'm running the 2 amps in my sig so total I'm running a little over 1k watts right now. My buddy does all my installation for me and he can't do the big 3 but he thinks he can add the cap for me. Will adding a cap help with the lights? If so, what size do I need? Again, I'm just looking for a short term fix right now.

Sub/Amp Question

x2 on getting the T500-1bd. It's rated at 500 watts but does around 750. I run it close to 2 hours straight and it barely gets hot. -

I work for Megapath and we provide internet lines to the majority of the Radio Shack stores. I talk to the people at the help desk in TX all the time. They got some cool people who work there. -
I picked up this cd after seeing one of Steve's vids and I'm glad I did. The album is tight and pretty much every song except for 1 bumps. Tracks 10 and 18 hit the hardest.

Eclipse CD5030 CD/MP3/USB Radio
melonhead replied to BassBoy69's topic in Head Units-Processors and Eq's
I don't own this model but I do own a CD3100 and love it. Eclipse is a good brand and you can't go wrong. I like being able to control the ipod from the deck itself. Makes it a lot easier to flip through songs while driving. -
Buying refurbished?

In that case it's probably better to spend the extra $40. If it was a few hundred dollars then definitely go refurbished. -

I've always bought brand new from Crutchfield but my buddy bought an amp from them refurbished and hasn't had any problems with it. -
