  1. I'm bout an hour and half north. will try to make it, but won't have no system, i'm in the middle of a rebuild.
  2. Night and day difference??? which way , the cvr's louder, or the pa bb's louder???
  3. ok, i have never messed with a sundown amp, just read he had the remote gain turned all the way up. didn't know using the remote gain only let you turn the gain up as high as it is on the amp itself.
  4. i would turn down the gain. def don't have it turned up to max, could easily be the problem.
  5. To me it doesn't really matter what your friends think of the name of the amp, when they here it, they will want to own the same thing. Go with sundown, crescendo, audioque. they all make good amps, and amps that will put out the power and more that you need. I personally wouldn't put over 900 to your L7 for daily.
  6. go with the audiopipe, you will be happy with it for the money. I've seen a few in action, and they do what they are supposed to. I put my friends 1500 on my sub, and i couldn't tell any difference between my rf amp and it, @ 2ohms.
  7. go with a couple audiopipe ap1800's can strap them to in the future if you want, plus be a whole hell of alot cheaper than those piles of soder you want to use. Look at audioque amps as well @ www.audioque.com go to order to see prices. they are good amps and fairly cheap. If you want cheap 15's check out some american bass 15" dx's check www.caraudiodeals.com or ebay . they are only like 60 bucks apiece. and my question is, how much airspace do you have in your back seat. sure don't seem like it would be enough room for that many 15" subs. You have a lot better options is what i'm telling you, than the setup you are wanting to go with, for the same price, if not cheaper. Like less subs and a good ported box!! but good luck with it all, and do lots of research on this forum, you can/will learn quite a bit of useful info.
  8. Really?? why did you waste your time posting if you are going to say that???
  9. when i was stationed in alaska there was moose everywhere, and if you watched them soon as they would get in the trees, they nearly dissapear believe it or not, they blend in really well in a woods, their legs are long enough they kind of look like small trees and their bodies are high enough to be in the canopy of the smaller trees, so you can hardly see them at all.
  10. it was a toss up between fruity pebbles and the apple jacks, and of course i grab the damn apple jacks. lol
  11. I just bought a box of Apple Jacks last night at wal-mart. Ate some this morning and first bite they were already soggy. don't know if this is the reason or thats just how they are these days, it has been a few years since i have ate some. they just looked good.
  12. DO NOT SELL THE XL!! if you sell it, it will take you even longer for that big setup you are trying to achieve. Just take it out, and find some junk subs to throw in till you get your big amp. never hurts to have extra subs laying around anyways.
  13. oh yes, there are many other 8's out there that are good. you could even run some solobaric L5's or L7's if you are just after spl.
  14. i would def go with the diamonds, you can over power them to, if its a clean signal, i have had around 800-850 on my 15" d3 for a while now, and still takes it like a champ. I really like the diamond audio subs, descent sound quality, good power handling, look good, and put out a lot of sound. you won't be dissapointed. i also have a friend with 4 cvr 8's and a extended cab s10 and the sound good as well, and get low for what they are, just not as clear as the diamonds. just my .02!
  15. diamond audio has very good sound quality. I would love to see you do the diamonds. what series are you looking at of each??? and what kind of power you going to have on them?? and are you using them for mid bass or for your subs??
  16. sounds to me like ups did it. i bet the magnets seperated from the motor, and it's pinching the coil, i can almost gauruntee it.. have the same problem with a brand new rockford fosgate he2 10" when they first came out. i asked for help on here how to fix it, but never got any help.
  17. using various calculators you can get to from this website, or using math, you can tune a ported box to play better at certain frequencies.the tuning is determined by the length of the port. You can tune it to play the lows which would be like 28-34 hz, or tune it higher than that, which in most cases will be a little more meter friendly. check out the subwoofers/enclosure section on this forum, and start reading, you will learn all about it. Re audio has a box calculator for free, torres calculator is another one, which is a lot more accurate, and you can get it from this forum as well.there a lots of members on here who will design you a box for a little donation, and who knows you may find someone to design one for you for free. best thing to do is start building, use the box calculators and go to town. build a couple test boxes, the best way to learn is to just dig in and do it, plus you will be a lot happier with your system if you put a little blood, sweat, and tears into it. If you are going from a sealed box backround, you will be amazed with the world of ported boxes!!!!!
  18. I always wanted to put a sub running tons of power to it in a sealed particle board box could just build a mdf box ported and tuned, that way you control the tuning, instead of hoping the particle board leaks at the right frequency.lol
  19. I had 4 of them ported at 37 hz, and loved them, actually considering getting some again and building a wall. I built a 2.4 cubic ft. ported box tuned at 37hz for 1 of them for a friend in a 2009 cobalt, and was amazed by the sound quality and how loud it got, for 32 dollars a piece, they are excellent. He had a soundstream di175 i think was the model number. It put out between 150 and 200 watts rms, and sounded good, so don't need tons of power. I was running about 450 rms a piece on them, and had them for almost a year, and took them out, had no problems with them. i take that back, 1 of the plastic magnet covers started rattling on one, and i glued it with a hot glue gun, and no more problems after that.
  20. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-PAIR-1200W-HIFONICS-HFi12D4-12-Car-Subwoofers-Subs-/350289953007?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Car_Subwoofers_Enclosures&hash=item518ee880ef real cheap!!! buy a sheet of mdf, do some reading on here, and build a ported box. You will be happy, especially for the price.
  21. buy 2 12" hifonics hifi 12d4's. cheap and sound good.
  22. The best orientation i found in mine, was sub back port to the drivers side. I had 1 10" l7 in a box tuned at 36 hz, and hit a 135 sealed up. don't remember the cubes on it, its been a while. the scores are on a tl to.
