  1. I am ready to move to warmer climate. These single digit temps suck

  2. This sounds like a good post for one of the mod motor mustang websites. I would call Harry over at Precision and let him spec out a turbo for your application. A single 76mm turbo will get you 700 rwhp with ease.
  3. Your best bet is to find a donor car. It can be done but will be a pain in the ass. I used to do 4 cylinder to 5.0 swaps back in the day. If you car is running you might be money ahead to sell your car and pick up a 4.6 car. Pulling the dash and running the wiring harness is going to be a bigger pain in the ass then doing the motor and tranny swap. Like Orion said the mustang forums will be your best bet. This is a bigger project then you realize.
  4. I am having a brain fart here. What song is that playing in the video?
  5. Here is a pic of my current setup. I know everyone is going to say do a ported box. However I really like how the box performs with test tones as low as 16 hz. So I was originally thinking of adding two more of the same woofers and making the box taller so I can get the the same 1.27 cubic feet that I have now per sub. I also considered doing four 15's instead of the six 12's. I know I need more amplifier. For the most amperage I ever see the amp pull is 50-60 amps unless it is a test tone around 20hz. At the point I can get the amp to pull 90 amps. I am running two batteries with 4 gauge wire running everything. I will step up the wire size when I change amps. I have been talking with Mr. P and I am considering doing 6 of the DC lvl 3 12's with enough amp to keep them busy. I was telling Mr. P that I have been out of this game since 1993 and I am trying to get brought back up to speed. Looking to step up my TL of 138 sealed up at 42 hz. I would like to see that magic 150. However I am not I am ready to spend that kind of money. Looking to drop 2K on subs and an amp. Please advise for I have no business making such decisions for myself. PS. Amp will be moved from the top of the box to the front of it just behind the rear seats.
  6. If Steve or any of the other powers that be would like another mod for this section I would be glad to offer my help. I have extensive dyno and tuning experience for both Ford and GM Automobiles. I also do custom tuning on all the Japanese and Harley Davidson Motorcycles. If you have any questions regarding custom ecm/pcm tuning for either ford or gm vehicles please shoot me a pm.
  7. 59 and cloudy as can be. I forget sometimes what the sun looks like living here.
  8. My guess is the shop is about to get one heck of a system. Heck with the mids. What will you be doing for subs?
  9. I can only imagine how many people have had demos in the passenger seat of that Tahoe.
  10. I think that is the first NMRA Mustang I have seen with that much bass before. So besides the stereo what all is done to the mustang? Do you run open comp or one the other classes? See my sig for my mustangs.
  11. http://boston.barstoolsports.com/random-th...etting-engaged/ Worlds most expensive hummer.
  12. Get the SS. Close to a 70 wheel hp gain with just a pcm flash. I know because I have done it.
  13. I am pretty sure the only thing I have been listening to in my car the last 2 weeks or more is Decaf. Sad thing is I have no idea what any of the songs sound like before he worked his magic.
  14. I am embarassed to say I check Steve's youtube page once a day to see if he has any new videos uploaded. I have way too much time on my hands this time of year.
  15. My guess is my hearing as suffered as result of the high frequencies from screaming sportbikes on the dyno. I guess I am wondering how much low frequency spl an ear can take before suffering serious damage.
  16. I have been on this forum now for a 3-4 months. It seems like there are so many of you on here with 150+ db systems. Do any of you have any hearing problems or feel pain in your ears? The reason I ask is I am sure I am less then 140 db in my car and even though it does not sound loud to me it still makes my ears burn after 10-15 mins of listening. The funny thing is I know I am exposed to some serious spl in my shop with the sport bikes and muscle cars on the dyno. I can not explain how loud a built Suzuki Hayabusa with a Brocks Sidewinder exhaust is in the shop. It is so loud that it vibrates the shit out of the monitors of dyno. The same thing thing goes for cars with open headers that are either supercharged or have a bunch of compression. The shit is loud. I wear hearing protection when doing this type of testing. At 34 I am finding myself asking people to repeat what they are saying. Makes me thinki if I should really be screwing with car audio again. I do not want to be 50 and need a hearing aid. I want to be enjoy the sense of sound for a long time. This is why I use hearing protection when on the dynos. Anyway I was just wondering if anyone else is having some "oh shit" thoughts about their hearing as a result of high spl.
  17. Add Rod bolts to a stock LS1 and you can make well over 650 rwhp to the tires (750 flywheel) Here is a graph of a 2008 G8 I did. Modifications include: APS Twin Turbo kit Comp Cams custom grind for the turbo kit. Stock Heads and Intake 3" Magnaflow Catback Tuned on Pump Gas and has been daily driven at this power level for 20,000 miles.
  18. I have tuned a number of LS1's. Everything from mild to wild. Long Tubes are usually worth an easy 20 rwhp with a stock cam. Add a cam and the gains from long tubes go up. A cam is going to be one of your bigest gains. You just need to make sure your cam is match to your torque converter. I would suggest either calling Texas Speed or Thunder Racing if you decide to go the cam route. I have seen a 100 rwhp gain from long tubes and a cam on an ls1. Feel free to shoot me a pm if you have any questions. I am lost when it comes to all the new car audio equipment. However I imagine I can offer a wealth of information regarding LS1 modifications.
  19. That is the down fall to car audio. Seems like everyone wants to get in your car and steal it. That is why I tend to things on a budget for the cars that sit outside. I remember a good 10 to 15 years ago when one of my mustangs got broken into. I had a $50.00 cd player in the dash and a carbon fiber nitrous bottle, bottle heater, and aluminum brackets in the hatch. If I were to guess I had somewhere between $400.00-500.00 in that part of the nitrous system. The assholes knocked out the trunk lock and went through the hatch to steal the radio. The nitrous system was left untouched. Fucking idiots.
