  1. Amps get hot because they arent 100% efficient (meaning, electric power (DC) will be converted to electric power (AC) + heat). By changing your omhms your resistance will go up (switching from 2 to 4 ohm) or down (from 4 to 2 ohm). Less resistance means more power that can by put out (as you can see in the amp specsheet). More power means more heat. Inside your amp there is a part that changes the amp's internal voltage up (sometimes as much as 100V). That part generates heat and power. If you have a higher battery voltage or a lower ohms rating (because then you dont need as much power) the voltage up chips doesnt have to work as hard, meaning less heat. Parts which doesnt have to work as hard means a longer lifespan. If a chip runs on a higher temperature for a long time it will wear off faster than a chip on a lower temperature.
  2. Turbo is like a boost. But its driven by exhaust gasses. The exhaust gasses pressurize the intake gasses (2 turbines connected). That means you have to reroute the exhaust pipe, need more sturdy intake pipes and if possible some kind of intercooler (to cool the intake air).
  3. Powder coat black +1 Really, its under the car and its dirrty there all the time. You have your blue brakes, i think blue control arms will be a bit too much.
  4. has built himself a PC!

  5. Hmm. Im one of yours i guess. Meh likez car audio and knows a lot about PC's. Ive just finished building my pc. Now im trying to get some money to cool it. Its damn loud...
  6. Good stuff Being just some guy who knows something more about pc's; what do you use it for?
  7. Is there somewhere a article wichs tells you the pro's and cons of a ported and sealed box? I want to hit the real lows (35-40hz).
  8. Ive got this for my portable music. Might be a little less louder but its still darn nice and more portable
  9. But i dont trust a 500w amp which he bought for like 75 euros. That just cant be 500w. MB Quart is probably a good brand (as you guys reccomend them), but its real hard to get them in the Netherlands so warrantys wil probably also be hard to work with. Ill stick to a better to get brand so i dont have that much trouble with warranties. Is there somewhere a article wichs tells you the pro's and cons of a ported and sealed box? I want to hit the real lows (30-35hz).
  10. I just told him. But where do i have to place the fuse from Battery+ to Amp and how much A fuse do i have to get? Thanks! Being a total noob in car audio. I chose for the RF P3D412 to hook it up in 2 ohms on my amp so i can get 500w out of it. In 4 ohm the amp puts out 300w. Is that P2D212 much better than a P3D412?\ About the box, whats better. Ported or Sealed. I always thought that ported was for loudness. Sealed for SQ.
  11. No, i dont have anything about chinese amps. But he said the amp cost him like 75 euros so it cant be 500w. That alpine unit is 230 euros.
  12. Damn, i just see that i need the biggest P2 series with a 4 ohm DVC (to hook them up in 2 ohm). That one is 400RMS/800max. Is that a problem that im running it with 100w over RMS? Only one retailer in the Netherlands. So ill stick to the 'easier-to-get-in-Holland' brands. I was planning to do a big3. But where do i have to put the fuse? And how much amps does my fuse have to be? One more question Whats the best box? For a P2 12" subwoofer?
