  1. Sani u are a tar tar. Lol. I know u were joking. It's not a kiss ass thing or anything remotely close. Just giving thanks to someone who deserves it...
  2. OK... I want to first say THANK YOU to Mr. Steve Meade. This site has been one of the best and worst things to ever happen to the car audio world. It's been one of the worst things for car audio shops around the world for you to show secrets of the trade, getting customers hooked on nothing but obnoxiously loud sound systems, having more people visit your site than any dealers sites, and for being too cool of a dude. (this is of course all complete sarcasm as that is what all the haters have to say). You have been one of the best things to happen to car audio because you have pretty much shown how to do it right for the DIY'er like I was in high school doing it for fun for my friends. Some people pay to go to school to read a book on this stuff... and although they may have the equations memorized, or color codes, or can do ohms law in their heads... they don't have the hands on experience it takes and the practice required to get it done to an acceptable level. OR they could save their money and check out the SMD site, learn a few tricks, get advice on things when they ask the right questions... all b/c of this site... for well... free basically. I would like to challenge everyone on the SMD website to join SMD as our thanks to Steve for giving all of our crazy loud, multiple woofer having, eyeball popping out, ground shaking, concert sounding systems to hang out. Do whatever level you can afford but do it! TO TDH and Team Pulse members...if you join at the gold level I will give you a 25.00 gift certificate at my store good for anything you want or need. BUT.... YOU MUST DO IT BEFORE THE TDH/PULSE CAR AUDIO NOVEMBER KNOCKDOWN on NOVEMBER 27th to get the gift certificate! (See thread in competition corner) JOIN NOW!!!! Thanks again Steve!
  3. the old school RF amps that looked like a grill? I think that was designed on purpose by the peeps at RF... that way you could grill a steak while waiting for your run at the meter during shows.
  4. oh and the box is 6.3 cubes with over 3 cubes of port. hehehe The hummer is wired at 2 ohm per amp, with box rise at 7.x ohm (don't remember exact number sorry) it's doing 4100 per pair of 18"... 160dB+ the boswell's metro is set a 1ohm nom... box rise is at 3.7ohm 159dB
  5. I clamped 1009 watts at 5.3 ohm after box rise. Nominal load at .5ohm. Single Sundown saz3500 (doing 1009 at 5.3ohm is decent when it should be around 700 or so). Two DD3515. Excessive Amperage alternator and two Batcap 2000. My best scores are 152.8dB in the kick at 46-48hz.... 152.0 in the kick playing music... 149.5dB sealed on the dash at 45-48hz... 148.6 sealed on the dash on music... and at the headrest a 150.0 on music and a 150.4 at 43-45hz and I'm not done. Thanks for the kind words by the way... and Greg... your score is not bad bro. Yea a box change could really help you out... but you have got to do the right box.

  7. I just got one of these monsters... with box rise at 5.3 ohm.... I clamped 1009 watts... score... 152.8dB 150.0dB at the headrest
  8. I have a Pioneer cd player that will be up for grabs...
  9. the savings on gas is one thing... saving brakes is another... Trippi's Hummer is like a Tank with the wall in there.. and it's Birch... if it was MDF... GOOD LORD... lol
  10. yea what chode said. lol Katie will be running in truck/suv. lol
  11. 11 layer Birch my friend. It's cabinet grade on both sides. you can find the Birch/Maple ply a tad cheaper at around 44.00 a sheet.
  12. yea and now we do a NSPL event and an IASCA event every month... TWO SHOWS A MONTH!
  13. you won't find anything other than 3/4" Birch in my shop. This stuff costs me between 52.00 and 68.00 a sheet... last load was 64.00 each 4x8 sheet
  14. i have had stuff break before and not ran and posted a big ass "brand X" FAIL as a topic on a forum. I deleted that post after I re-read the thread... I thought he was AT WORLD FINALS now... sorry. again, that's why I deleted it. Saying it was a fail is a bit harsh... as like I stated before mistakes happen, it's how they fix it that counts... FINALS is only a week away... I would be willing to bet that Rusty and CJ will get you taken care of in plenty of time sir. Maybe a better way to word the title of the thread is "PLEASE SOMEONE FROM DC HELP!!" They did make a MISTAKE... but they have not FAILED. (not yet at least... give them time to fix it this week for you)
  15. I personally see nothing wrong with this post either. The biggest issue and the reason some are upset with the post is b/c of all the DC huggers. lol HOWEVER... With this post comes responsibility... WHEN DC makes it right... PLEASE make sure you post what they did to help the situation. Chode is right in that people make mistakes... it's how they come to a resolution of the mistake that makes them a great company... or not. Rusty is a good guy, and I'm sure he will do his best to take care of you.
  16. what kind of setup are you running? I'm doing ok with my truck... but not super. lol... it's really built more to tear your head up a bit. hahaha I clamped only 1009 watts doing a 148.4 op the dash sealed up and a 152.3 in the kick. Stock alternator, Stock battery.
  17. disconnecting one channel at a time will tell you where the issue may lie. certainly try that. another culprit could be a defective rca. yet another could be a pinched rca, or even remote wire. I've seen that happen as well. best way to rule out the amp is to disconnect all channels except one. let it play if no problems, hook up the next channel... and repeat. if you get to say the third set and it cuts off... disconnect that channel and hook up the next. if no problems then you need to check everything in that third run (again thats an example) process of elimination. but again, check rca, etc. and yet another... make sure the input voltage going into the amp does not exceed the input voltage of what the amp can handle. I had that issue with an amp in the past... the company that made the amp also made the eq I was using. the problem was the eq was a 7volt eq... their amps only took 4volt input. lol
