  1. Nah, what you need to do is go into Preferences, go to the Advanced tab, and make sure check "Copy Media to Itunes Folder" or something like that. That way whenever you play a song, or import something, it'll automatically copy it into the folder and it won't be lost. You won't have to worry about organizing individiaul files in folders... I used to keep my music folder extremely organized, but when I stopped using Windows Media Player and got an iPod, I realized there's no reason for me to worry about the folder when Itunes would copy everything to it's own folder. Now I just import the CD I downloaded, let itunes copy it, then delete the folder. SIMPLE!
  2. Recently I got the gig at a local bar looking to have a few dance nights each week. I'll be primarily playing/mixing the top songs on the Billboard 100 as well as some tunes from past years. Basically stuff they'd play at a night club, just no techno (yet). Looking for a DJ name, so I'm hoping yall can help me as I don't think it's right to pick one yourself. I'm hoping to get about 5-6 good ones, then let my co-workers pick/vote for one. There's nothing I'm really known for except the following: I'm a big guy, think 6 foot 280 lbs. I'm a huge Virginia Tech fan (even got the logo tatted on my arm) I'm known for always having a loud system in my vehicles. and I ALWAYS wear a 5950 Fitted New Era hat. Help me out!
  3. I go to automotive school here in Statesboro, GA, we got a new electronics tester that had a huge screen on it, I thought it might have an O-scope built into it, sure enough it did... so for about a day I helped set gain levels on every student in our class that had a system lol
  4. That's cool... I"ll be in bed by that time (1am my time)
  5. I just like the fact that Netflix now has a Search function in it, AND for Gold members, you can watch ESPN events online now! Which is great for me... cause I don't ahve cable! I didn't hate the old one, but this one seems so new age... I like it.
  6. Just curious... are the subwoofer boxes ported? If not, does it make a difference in sealed boxes if it's got 45's or not??
  7. I'm planning on having my Ranger having about 2200ish RMS watts and around 4500 watts max, what's going to be the best electrical system? I'm all ready planning a 270-300 amp alternator, but what type/how many batterys would you go with? And what size wire? i'm thinking 1/0 all around and 2 extra batteries plus the 1 in the hood?
  8. Well hurry up because I'm in my auto class with nothing else to do! Ironically enough I'm in Electrical/Electronics
  9. is pissed about my window leaking water onto my amp... sparks galore!

  10. Go look on rangerpowersports.com or therangerstation.com lots of stuff
  11. Maybe it hasn't something to do with the alt spinning a little more when in reverse, the little bit of an rpm boost usually when it shifts gears?
  12. Well first let's get your dimensions right, I THINK he means: 15 1/2 deep x 51 wide x 45 height. I drive a 2001 Ford Ranger, with the extended cab doors that open up in a "suicide" way, and I've measured my width at about 53 inches. You can fit 4 12"s across if the outer diameter isn't to big, so you can EASILLYYYY fit all the 8's and 10's you want to. My plan is to run the 4 12's in a ported box that comes up just above the window line. If you're willing to wall it, I'd say you could probably run in the middle teens as for the number of subwoofers.
  13. I don't know what you call it, but you won't gain or lose volume with the direction the subwoofer is faced. Subwoofers aren't like regular speakers, how if you point the speaker towards you it's louder versus if you point it away from you, bass just GOES, doesn't matter which way it's facing. I know if you reverse fire the subs, like with the magnet on the outside of the box, with how the cone is shaped adds a little bit of volume to the inside of the box so it may sound different like that, but you could face the subwoofer in the most random direction in the trunk and it won't change.
  14. Wish I could make it! Hot Import Nights/Nopi is in Atlanta at the same time.
  15. Make sure the bolts are torqued to the proper spec to, you can undertighten or overtighten things pretty easily and create uneven pressure points allowing oil to leak where it's not sealed as tight. You'll need a torque wrench to make sure everything is tightened properly. A Hanes manual will have this information readily available.
  16. Thanks for the response yall! I'm currently designing a box to fit 4 CVR's into... proving tricky. Trying to fit 4 in a ported enclosure around 33hz... don't know if it's possible, the math is looking tricky but I think it's doable... pretty much using the entire space of 52x13.5x20.5. Pretty sure I'm gonna have to build a port that "wraps around" the inside of the box. But it'll sound good if I can pull it off!
  17. Isn't the one with Soulja Boy the remix? I have a copy that doesn't have him on it.
  18. The dash kit was simple. Just remove the stock head unit and push the entire thing in. There were little clips on mine that just apply pressure and keep it from coming out. Then you install the cage and turn the little tabs as usual. I'll try and get a picture sometime this week though. I'm thinking about a ported box but I'm not sure, got a few ideas rolling around in my head, we'll see what all happens.
  19. I guess it's a good thing if yall think that's a prefab box... I made it myself! Although the specs for the box were from the Kicker CVR's owner's manual that came with it. For the next box I'm going to build one that goes the width of the back, so shallower but a lot wider. But that'll come after alternator/battery upgrades.
  20. First let me say I love this forum, so many great installs and ideas to grab from to start another idea. I got this vehicle about a month ago and the first thing I got into were changing out the door speakers, head unit, and adding some low end to it. While it's not as impressive as the rest of the installs I've seen, I thought I'd post and get feedback from everyone... This is my second install, but I consider it my first because it's the only one I'm proud of. Here's a list of what I'm working with: Headunit: Alpine CDA-9886 Door Speakers: Kicker KS5.2 (5.25" with 1" tweeter w/ crossovers behind door panel) Subwoofer: 12" Kicker CVR Dual-4OHM Voice Coils Amplifier: Rockford Fosgate 700s Note** Wood pieces are now covered in black carpet and a few things ran differently. Will try to get a picture of new carpet/wire runs ASAP Please no hating, but 'constructive' criticism always appreciated. :-) FYI: Ground wires are ran to a different location now.
