im getting ready to start the build in my safari van. im doing this on the super cheap so please dont laugh to hard. theres gonna be 12- square 12" hyper pros from pyramid (yeah i know theyr cheap as shit but thats the good thing if you blow one its easy to replace.) 4 - 1500 crunch mono blocks running them. 3 - 1400 watt 4 channel amps running the highs. 10 channels of seperated highs and mids (all kicker). clarion touch screen head unit. pioneer preamp processor in the dash. kicker 3 way x-over. soundstream linedriver/EQ for the subs. 5 - 1200 cca gel cell batteries. 2 alternators to keep it all running and a shit load of 4 and 0 gauge power cable to hook it all up. streetwires rca cables to connect it all. i know its all cheaper stuff, but im doing it on a low budget. plus its funny to show some of the haters out there that cheap shit can pound like hell to. i throw some pics up as i get going on the build.

well yea you guys are right about the wet drawing from the gels. but only in a perfect world can you use the same kind of batts in the rear as the front. alot of cars only have room for a small wet cell in the front. plus some peoples budgets may not allow for an extra gel cell to go in the front. just a thought is all

idk how you feel about used batteries but you can get rebuilt gel cell batteries for way less than new ones. im using 4 alliance gel cell batteries in mine that were made for semi trucks. i was told they go for bout 250 -300 new but i got them for way way less. idk if these guys have a website or anything but i got mine from dayton battery sales in dayton ohio 937-274-1104. cost me $30 for each battery + tax. they work just as good as an optima or any thing like that. and you can mount them on thier sides if you want.

hey guys i found something that might be useful to all the bass heads out there. every1 knows you should put some kind of damping on your body panels and any where you can get rattles of your car. every1 also knows how much $$$ that stuff cost even for the small amounts. i found something that works just as good and costs way less. now i know it may sound retarded or low tech as hell but it does work. i found out that roofing membrane that you use to put on the roofs of houses works pretty damn good to absorb rattles. it comes in big rolls and it has an adhesive backing to make it stick. and the price you pay for a lot of this stuff is about the same as the price for a few square feet of the real stuff. i know it sounds goofy as hell but the shit works great. try it if you dont believe me but i think youl be surprised.

im looking for a high amp alternator for an astro van. "early style" 85 - maybe 94, mines a 93. i need one around 240 amp or higher. any1 have 1 they wanna get rid of at a reasonable price? "that works" dont want no burned up 1

the v6 in those things suck. terrible throttle response and no power. if you get one of those you definately have to get it with the hemi.

ya fosgates website is right. you can get dual 4 ohms to get you down to a 1 ohm load.

and the blowing fuse part could be that you're pushing the amp to hard. do you have the ohms lowered to less than the amp can be stable at? that can surely pop a fuse pretty quick.
