  1. Got sad. just saw steve's newest video and spotted the box back in the tahoe.
  2. I need to watch sumpin different. I just got done watching the last build on youtube for the third time. I have to say your shop is cool, but i do miss the backyard builds
  3. you only screw up big once on a motorcycle. start small and work up at your own pace. when i mean small i am not talking about a brand new 600 some of these are tenths of a second off of there big bro 1000's in the 1/4 mile. get late 80s to early 90's 600 and get real comfortable with that
  4. if i was starting over again i would buy something super cheap and ride it for a year. then go out and get something nice. i learned on my brothers 650 shadow. two years later i got a suzuki sv1000s. wheelie machine. as far as the lic. goes in ny you get a permit first. you can ride on a permit as long as there is someone else riding next to you that has a lic. that doesnt mean ride up to strangers. pick a friend and practice. gl
  5. np thanks for the help. sealed it is. just got to order the sub. get the amp kit. gonna go with knu 4 gauge. gonna sound good
  6. you got me confused your first post said ported and your second said sealed. i think you ment sealed the first time.
  7. i could build a sealed box easy enough but i have no experiance with ported box's at all. wouldnt know where to begin.
  8. ups will be here thursday with a kicker zx08700.5 amp. it will put out 420 watts at 2 ohms on the mono channel. i am going to order a level 2 15" for it. my problem is i want it loud but acurate. ported or sealed. what do you think? going in a trailblazer so space is a non issue. the other four channels are running two sets of polk db6501's in the doors. all controlled with an eclipse cd5030. i was thinking about the level 3 but i dont want to under power it.
  9. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_i19_in-...o-monitor-.html try these
  10. all three of these compressors say that they are twin cylinder " double lung". this is the biggest factor in air compressors. the more pistons compressing air at the same time the better. the only real differance is the tank capacity. the bigger the better.
  11. sorry for the noob question. but i want to build a box for a level 2 15" this calc. looks very easy to use. but i am unsure where the woofer and the port placement should be. looking for woofer up port back. can you do that with a slot port or does that mess things up. this will be my 1st attempt at a box. any pointers would be helpfull. also some insite on tuning would be good. thanks again.
  12. No group riding. hardly get out of the garage these days. kids have a habit of putting the toys on hold
  13. looking to purchase one in the near future. going to be powering it from the sub channel of a kicker 08zx700.5 420watts rms at 2 ohms. dc's site rates the level 2 at 300 watts rms. is this amp over kill for this sub?
  14. i have two sets of the db6501's and they sound really good. these are the lower grad of polks. i can only guess what the mm or the rs series sounds like. i got mine for $99. a set on amazon
  15. i said that i was looking at other amps. not that i bought other amps. i also said that i was building a box and going to drop a 15" in it. thanks for reading the whole post.
  16. i started looking at the t500-1bd and the t400-4 for the componants. gonna build a box and drom a p3 15" duel 2 and drop it to one ohm. what do you think. the trailblazer has a power stud under the rear seat. would this be ok to power the amps, or should i run to the battery?
  17. looking for best bang for my buck as money is at a premium. an all in one amp would be the best for the cash, but not sure if sq would be any good.
  18. what would you recommend. polks are 100 w. rms and the rockford is 500 w. rms at 4 ohms
  19. i see you have an alpine pdx. they have a 5 channel one that i was looking at. it would be easer to have one amp for everything
  20. i know i just could not resist commenting on the battery post. almost fell off of the couch
  21. cant belive the guy with the question " can i run a second battery without hooking it up to the alternator' is getting more responce then my question
