^that ur amp cant get 1000hz because ur amp is cutting it off, starting at "250" as you stated u should always be setting the gain with headunit at 48. typically, it wont sound "loud" to you until volume 30+, that is normal because the bulk of rca voltage is created closer to 48 for your deck

that would work but it makes no sense to hook up a set of rcas to test the pass thru when u can take the input rcas already ran thru the car and test that. gain can be anywhere if you are testing pass-thru. the term pass-thru means it goes thru nothing in the amp

We also chose an RCA input connector for a few reasons: • It makes it pretty easy to measure the output of a headunit directly, if you choose to do so this insinuates that most people will check headunit rca clipping through the amplifier they are soon to set the gains on. this is advantageous because then you do not have to switch the probes. simply turn gain down to min and check headunit with track 1/2, then switch to desired db track and turn gain up.

gain at min testing speaker terminal + is same as testing headunit rca so says the booklet, at least thats how i understood it

the problem when i tried was 1) my knukonceptz are curved and dont even fit into the opening and 2) even stinger/db link/rf rcas did not work because it seems the ground shield doesnt go down far enough into the unit... only way we've gotten it to work is thru an amp, which doesnt matter, its the same end result lbox, a headunits amp that power speakers can clip before/after the rca's do... so that is not a sufficient

ive never been able to get a signal from rca input on the top of the unit, i've always had to through the amp speaker terminals

set HPF as high as possible for that test while doing 40hz, making sure that the rca going to the sub amp is not affected by that filter

in the booklet the "SQ" setting is -5db for both 1000hz and 40hz -5db is the safest setting beside 0db on the cd provided and it is what I recommend/use to set my gains. -10db is what is recommended, but there are plenty of songs that are louder than that, so its a good compromise but is less safe than -5db. in my opinion, use -15db if u never listen to rap/heavy metal/dubstep. if available, you could use -10db and simply alter the sub level on the deck to get the desired effect, but thats for those who know their systems limits and know when to turn it down the closer the value of the tone to ZERO the louder it is, which means your gain will be set lowest to match

for a slot port, yes because its using an internal box wall as a port wall and the box wall extends beyond the physical port wall. 28 is the input for port length for this box using torress calc 14+8+.75(port wall thickness) = 22.75 physical port length the green box should say 30.25 for 6cuft@33hz
