  1. DC lvl 1 or 2. DD 500b or 1000b series. RE REX series. Fi Q etc etc, there are some sub ideas, couldn't say about amps though
  2. James speaks the truth. Don't mix the amps, if you have to keep the subs, keep them, but use 1 good amp, not two mis-matched ones. If your on a really tight budget, go for Pioneer, it's many times better than visonik. Try to save up and get good equipment first time though.
  3. box design is on the thread because it said you can't PM

  4. Box: Height - 16" Width - 25" Depth - 20" Port: Height- 14" 1/2 Width - 3" Length - 28" (put a 45 at the corner to help the air flow better) If you want you can change the port length to 25" but the tuning will rise to 36hz Any questions, just ask for some reason the PM didn't work?
  5. Ok, 15" it shall be, as long as you are sure it will fit the sub. Tonight it is then.
  6. How do you fit a 15"woofer in a 15" box? I still need max dimensions. Even though I won't use the full space. When do you need it by? tonight?
  7. 4" wide by 10" high and then however deep it has to be to tune it to 35hz.' I can design it for you if you give me dimensions.
  8. If the both have the same port area, it will be the same. unless the round one is a aero port. Maybe just go with a slot port and make sure you have about 14 square inches of port per cube.
  9. Well there's your problem. The box is far to small. If it is truly tuned to 35hz, it will only have 1 cube. it should have 2.5 or more. If you make the new box 3 cubes you will notice a huge difference, even with the same tuning.
  10. What sub and amp do you have? How big is the box? A new box should make a huge difference.
  11. Now this guy knows his stuff! Cookie for you OP in fact it will be louder with the 35hz one, but will not play as low as the 32hz one. I'm sure you would not notice a difference.
  12. Nah, don't bother with a adjustable port. Just pick the 35hz one. It will be fine
  13. If you want even lees strain, use a solid state relay, electromechanical draw probably the same amount as a fan!
  14. It's either the pre-fab box. Or it's a combination that the first note in put on is quite low for a second and might not go well with that box.
  15. No problem, with my gain at max it doesn't clip (o-scoped). The HU puts out so little voltage because it's 20 years old! lol. Gain is the ratio of increase, so you will be fine.
  16. ^x2 the wire was probably damaged. The best fix would be new wire though, but if you don't have enough monies, use this method^
  17. Now you need a button for a burp at your peak! perfect for db drags! lol
  18. surface area is useful too, but yeah that would be fine probably, unless you have a CRT monitor in the room, it would probably muck one of them up from 20ft away. 1" thick aluminium plate on the baffle so it doesn't pull itself through the wood and fly through some panels
  19. Car audio does weird stuff, it could be the wires even though you didn't touch them.
  20. hmm, just check all your wiring then. Not much else it could be.
  21. Are you sure they are actually producing a click? If your speakers can't keep up with your subs they can sometimes sound wavery, just from the pressure on your ears.
  22. Very true. O/P, did you use a calculator? If so, what one? Torres's one is really good cause it has many options and tells you the port area range.
