Remember that adding lenght to the port would also shrink the internal space of the box, what sub or subs are you using on that box? would need around 20" long to get a 35 hz tuning!

For daily i would tune around 35 hz, also, the FS of that sub is 35 hz if i remember correctly so i wouldn´t tune below that, port tuning changes when you add or reduce the port lenght, but also, when you get bigger or shrink the internal space of the box. Said that, modding your current box would save you some money!!

After reading your topic there´s something i don´t understand, is it a 12.4 or a 10.4???? by the size of the box on your RE Calculator, i guess it´s a 12" HCCA right?? anyways, PORT IS WAY TOO SMALL!!!! Before building a new box for it, i would modificate that one , i think you can make it WAY louder without spending time and money on a new one. Said that, i would get the port 2" Wide and 27" long, that would shrink the box internal space to around 2.3 cubic feet after displacement giving you around 16 SQ of port per cubic feet and a 36 hz tuning, i would do that before building a new box, but that´s just me

I think it was dwright27 who said a buddy´s Escape it´s loud as hell with subs up/port up, so i would take his word and would build that box, you wouldn´t need to keep the box away from the trunk, it´s the only way i can see you getting 2 18´s in there on a proper box without choking the port. Mike Singer had great succes using around 4.5 cubic feet per 18" TC Sound sub, but he had tons of power also so i don´t know much about 18´s , my 3518´s POUND with 5.75 cubic feet

If that box has 3/4" wood thickness, then it´s around 46 hz without including the sub displacement, so yes, it´s between 46 and 48 hz depending on the displacements you have inside the box.

Yes he had a 14K stetsom if i remember correctly, it´s a trunk car and they are a pain in the ass to score great numbers tho, i had a Cadence C6 on my subs, i can asure you this, if i were using better subs like 3 3510´s , level 4´s or something like that, i could have reached the 150 mark without any problems, my 1510´s reached mechanical limits at 900 watts per sub so i couldn´t past the 148 mark, they did pretty nice hairtricks and everything, i also built a box for a Scion XB some months ago, 4 Cheap ass Pioneer champions with an Hifonics hfi2500D wich is barely 2000 watts, he´s at 147 dbs right now @ 48 hz, i just love 10" systems, they impress a lot of people. One funny off topic about that setup, he has 2 subs up/2 subs forward and port side, he bass raced a 146 and i told him to open the trunk, people only could see 2 pioneer´s from the back of the car, hahaha people was like WTF???? 2 10" pioneer??? we never told them it was 4 subs hehe

i had 3 DD´s 1510 and 2800 clamped watts doing 147.8 dbs in my swift on a daily box , thorshammer hit a 151 with a pair of 10´s in a trunk car, so i say don´t subestimate 10" subs

Well, it depends on the amount of money you want to spent, you´re going with 10-12 subs because of the wow factor?? with that amount of space, i would go with 4 15´s , way easier and cheaper my man!!

I have seen a few guys complaining about the results, besides that, you have to pay a lot of money and wait a long time for getting a respond or something, there are TONS of good designers on this forum wich can charge you less money and give you the plans very fast

My boy dwright knows a lot already about 4th orders, i do think what he´s telling you is a very good advice, with that amount of power you woul have to build a small sealed chamber, i would try a 3:1 ratio, 4 c/f on sealed chamber and 12 c/f on the ported with a 45 hz tuning, 18 SQ of port per cubic feet so you can shrink the port area testing everything.

that´s sealed on the dash? very nice score , yes it could use a little bit more port since 9500´s seems to love it, but what for? a 150.6 it´s loud already for a single sub, very nice choice of sub man, try the old solo baric on that box sometime
