yepp yepp. if you keep it hot too long it's just going to go further and further down in the wire. Take it slow and you'll be 10x more pleased with the outcome. Also, use thick solder too. I noticed with thick solder it pools a lot faster than thin solder.

yep. thats exactally what happened to mine, except it didn't tear, it just caught on fire. Solder drips down into your wire because wires are cicrles, and there's tiny tiny spaces between each strand. That solder, along with the heat trasfered down and caused it to get too hot; and tear.

that jacket looks like utter crap and this happened to me too when i first used a torch. you have to heat the back of the ring and let the solder flow, harden and repeat. Looks like you let the wire deeper down get too hot and it caused the jacket to just tear off.

It makes somewhat sence. However, i don't see why it "wouldn't" work. All I want is to send signal to both amps. Nothing more, nothing less. I've used preamp outputs before, just not like this. I'm not looking to get fancy shmancy here lol, Just want my signal to be split; if that makes sence. Explain how using those preamp outputs on the amp wouldn't work? It's just another way of sending signal correct? If I plugged a male to 2 female y splitter into each preamp, then ran a set of rcas from the females to the inputs of the second amp, wouldn't that work? Also just to make clear, i'm talking about the "line out" rcas on the amp.

i've used preamps before, just not like this. I would think the y harness with the rcas would work yes? basically....

not using the eclipse. running some hifonics from audiosavings. that eclipse is going in the trash. So what you're saying is just plug my front rcas in the speakers amp, and the rear rcas into the tweeters amp?

I'm running 3 amps, 2 for speakers and tweets, and 1 for sub. I have 3 sets of rcas on my HU, sub, front and rear. When I plug in my front and rear to my speakers amp, and then use the preamp on the same amp, what type of rca connection will I need to plug into the tweeter amp? Don't worry about it bro. It's most likely something that happened when you weren't paying attention. I know at work i'll come home with scars on my arms and hands that I didn't even know what happened or how they got there. Just put some neospporin on it and a bandaid (lol) and just keep it cleaned. Keep an eye on it too, and if it doesn't heal up or get better then go to the doc.
