  1. i set of rcas= 1 cable two wires, some people may see it diff but thats the way i say it. or just RCAs if you already gotz 2 sets of rcas then use the one you posted 1 male 2 female
  2. Thats pretty much the same thing. Only reason i would even remotely say could cause a little prob is now you have 2 sets of rcas running to the amp so youll need another set of rcas and a little more chance to pick up noise. No biggie at all either will work, but if you use the ys at the amp you have one set of rcas and 2 y splitters thats it? http://www.crutchfield.com/p_211ZN5Y2M/StreetWires-Zero-Noise-5-Y-adapters.html?search=y+adapters&ssi=0 use that
  3. Solder is actually easier to take off just re-heat it and viola, the terminal or connection will pull right apart. Solder FTW
  4. Schweet Deal Steve! Gotta luv the SM in SMD. BTW I requested 18+ acces via an admin. How long does that usually take. I put in my birthdate, Social Security # mothers maiden name and all my credit card #'s but noone has responded and i see all kinds of charges on my cards, is that normal? J/K
  5. get 2 single female to dual male splitters put the at the end of your rca's directly into the amp, then theres no need for more patch cables and less chance of picking up noise through them. thats not the best way but it will be the cheapest. Some amps also have a 2ch or 4ch input selector dont know about yours though.
  6. Rockford 360.2 will do what you want. If price is not a issue, this unit will do pretty much anything you want. You can program it to be a master volume or bass control
  7. I dont think it was dimming his domes as the front one stayed bright maybe rattling the bulb loose or something. If it was dimming thats not really impressive its bad. But gotta love the HX2s excellent subs
  8. 1500.1bd @ 1 ohm to each 12. little too much power and the boxed is tuned to about 36hz its only 1.5 cubes per 12 but the port is crazy big 4.5x4.5x26 for each sub but it gets pretty low. its almost "finished" now other than i need 2 new subs and a little more glass work this weekend then it goes to upholstry next thursday then my highs are ran off a 600.4 2 pairs of diamond D661 on 1/2 and Diamond s400 on the other.
  9. So I ran some TL tests this morning. Its nothing special but it hits pretty hard for a Single cab work truck Im now running 1 less sub than when I started but oh well it was fun(cheap Subs anyways) No Video for this one but i had it on peak hold at first here is the pic. Here are the videos I figured I should get before I completely Killed the damaged sub 2 of tones and 2 of music. Its a Diesel sorry about the background noise. this one is drivers door open 141 on music ntb these are the last 2 vids I did, I knew one sub was blown but was having too much fun lol
  10. Thats funny ass shit/ nope never heard it before. Ive seen it many times though lol
  11. LMAO put the magic smoke back hmm i just had an idea let me get my magic smoke! YES!!!!!
  12. id probably stop trying to hook it up!. If it sparks when u hook up power something is fried/shorted to ground internally, and needs repair. are you really running 8 ga to a 4k amp... I know nothing about your amp but but im pretty sure thats not enough wire to support that power draw, if its a true 4k amp
  13. I have debated that for about 20 years with people. The midbass is extremely tight, the back of the pods are covered in spray foam and dynamat and they have poly foam in them. When i say "warm" i mean like the tweets scream but I dont have any subs to fill in the bottom. The debate has been.. my position is that why would i want the drivers fighting against each other sharing the same cavity on diff amps and crossover points. Any thoughts are welcome Thanks for everyones comments, Ive been outta the car audio field for about 10 years so my fab skills are a little rusty.
  14. Holy smokes-simmer down crok pot I agree with everone to an extent I wouldnt want say a battery or a 3k amp grounded to a seatbelt bolt.... duh but for a smaller system it works just fine.
  15. yeah the pods are fiberglass w/ polyester resin, to get them to stick to plastic door panels you have to use a 2 part epoxy(West Systems). Then i make a putty out of it with microballons(a lightweight sandable filler) to attach to panel then glass over that with epoxy again and done. Epoxy rules but once you start using it you cant go back over it with polyester you have to keep using epoxy. And its expensive... suxors they are never coming off though or rattling loose.
  16. So I had some equiptment laying around and no work for a couple of weeks door pods All glassed up Glassed and epoxyied to factory panels Diamond Audio 2pair D661 1 pair S400 and some cheap audiobahn coaxs in the bpillars my 600.4 finally using it Its not a huge system but its in my regular cab F350 work truck so i didnt have alot of room. It sounds pretty good but a little... lets say, not "warm" w/out my subs hooked up, I'll do that tomorrow. Im going to cover the pods and the box in gray vinyl with some sort of black insert, Ill let the upholstry guys deal with that though.
  17. Designing systems,probably with a woody

  18. Just a dude that likes to go DEEP ;)

  19. Steve, So I'm not the only one that thinks some days my system hits harder than others ... Cool. It seems like it hits harder with only me in the truck also. Oh well, Hopefully next time I'm in CA. I can get a demo, I try and make it down there once a year or so. Lots of props from another audiofreak/basshead in Alaska.
