So I've been seeing on some people's builds, that they have a little voltage meter (typically blue LED) under the head unit, or mounted wherever. What are they called? No, I don't even really know if it was clipping in the first place. I just turned down the amp until I got the correct voltage to set my gains properly.

I'm putting 400 RMS watts to a DVC CRV 15" Kicker.. (500RMS I don't know what the amp is.. It has no name, but I metered it and got about 400watts RMS at 2 ohms.

But it USE to hit hard.. until I was told to turn it down .. I don't even think it was clipping to be honest. It sounded fine.. I think I know what clipping sounds like.

So I can't get my sub to hit hard, unless I've got my amp turned up past what "clipping" is.. What have I done wrong here..
