  1. With what the MECA judge said at the trophy ceremony about me crumbling the concrete, do you think it is safe for me to say I have a "Certified" ground pounder?!

Winn... if you don't mind me asking... why were you asking about mixing sub sizes, what do you have in mind?? Nothing..... I just pulled it out of my ass and was just wondering.. im not going to mix subs... Ain't a damn thing wrong with educating yourself!!!

  4. no way in hell that looks bad, thats a great setup. The only thing that bothers me about that is the light grey carpet.. I ran out of dk grey... (I had to make adapter to swap from XXX 18's to FI then to the TFS subs... (did not feel like redoing the entire setup..) OP... on this truck, the 2 18's are in their own chambers on their own amps and the 15's share a chamber and are both on the same amp... oh yea ive seen some videos, i personally like it just because it has character and its different but still pounds like no other. I gotta say it is an interesting ride... You don't know how many times I have been confused with the Geek Squad! LOL!
  5. bout time you got online... that was the longest spark plug wire change in history...
  6. im talking about mixing fi with plye or kenwood with jl. it just looks like shit. IMO Mixing an FI sub with a Pyle sub is like mixing a King with a Challenged peasant.... Thats a disgrace LOL LMAO!!! King and a CHALLENGED peasant!!!!!! not only a peasant.. a challenged one on top of it! I can tell your no fan of pyle! LOL!

  8. im talking about mixing fi with plye or kenwood with jl. it just looks like shit. IMO Oh.. yeah... that looks like screwed over hell! LMAO! Ain't nothing like seing 4 subs, same size, all different brands and different colors!
  9. As far as looking bad... if it is done tastefully, it will look real good. I have people tell me franky looks ghetto... I have seen thousands of installs with the same subs that look way more ghetto than it does... I am a strong believer in finishing cabinets and running wires neatly... I don't think this looks too dam bad????
  10. Oh..... you knew dam well I was gonna chime in on this one! LOL! Here's what I gather about the rumor that started about mixing subs... If you put different size or different brand subs in the same cabinet without partitioning them off, the stiffer ones or smaller ones will move differently and the power to the subs will not be evenly distributed... will be more going to the smaller ones I believe... People have mixed sub sizes since I can remember. (I have been into car audio since the late eighties and never had any problems mixing subs) usually when you mix sub sizes you put them into different chambers. You also can tune them to different frequencies like I did in frankenstein. you are basically doing the same thing when you mix diferent size mid range speakers. One thing you cannot do because it will cause cancelation is put different subs in different cabinets on the same amp. What I did was tune the 18's to around 26hz and the 15's to around 36 hz to get a wide range of play.
  11. lol i n ever show my face on youtube ! haahah I know... I feel sooo strange recording myself!!!
  12. "MechDog" LMAO!!! I never thought a row alternators could look so beautiful! LOL!
  13. I get that EVERY day... The best one was a virus removal we did, the woman said that when she got it back that her tv quit working... (Not even connected to PC) (Your gonna love this...) The batteries in her remote went dead! LMAO!
  14. Hey... I brought my truck in to your shop last week and you rotated the tires for me... But, yesterday my garbage disposal quit working... whatever you did, you broke my garbage disposal in my house...
  15. Really isnt that much, I built a budget wall for a team member with 4 lanzar 15's ( ) for around I think $800... (amps included) It wasn't super loud (Lanzar Curse) but had potential to be loud as hell with some upgrades... Or some bigger ports....LOL His ports were up to par for what he had, crap, his port area for 2 of the 15's was more than my 6 15's! LOL! Plus, if I remember correct, we designed the box around Memphis CM Cast Mojo's which like smaller ports...

  17. I have too, back in the day... I have also seen a box for 16 18's save a guys life when he got T-Boned!!!!
  18. thats not a wall then. its a big ass box Technically a wall is a "big ass box" too. theres far more to a wall than making a box. far far more. In my opinion... the hardest part is molding everything in... (for me anyways!)
  19. I always put ports center on walls... as smoke said, better for music and equal sound in vehicle... As for the wall issue, I have had people argue with me that boxes on top of each other, connected and molded into vehicle where all you can see behind you is a WALL of speakers is not a wall... well, it IS a wall, sorry haters...
  20. Yeah... heard that version before in a truck just like yours, but with 4 15's and was about a db louder than you at about 1hz lower than you... LOL!
