Your trying to double layer the port to prevent flex? Put the second layer on the inside of the box. That way it takes up box space, not port space. And technically decreasing box space changes your tuning, but it shouldnt be alot.

Sub up port back. I wouldnt go as large as possible. It will make the sub "peaky". Can you fit the amp under the seat or anything cooler? I think mounting it to the box is too common.

Installing everything yourself feels so much better. And you could probably do a better job than some shops.......
