Thickness vs thickness plexiglass is stronger think about fishtanks, 250gallons of water 200lbs 8feet 2feet by 2 feet, think wood that was 3/4 (or a little less) it wouldnt be able to hold the water even it it was resin'ed to waterproof it... I thing it might effect sound couldn't tell ya, my 1" thick plexi side on my box is one of tne stronger points on my box, needed no bracing and its the biggest peice 24x 40.5 where the wood top and bottom needed bracing and they are 18" x 40.5 now braced with a 2x4

If I were to rebuild I would build box with the sealed chamber hook it up then sweep the meter Then tune the box to that frequency, that's how some of the big boys do it Or u can just kinda pick a ratio and go for it! If I were you I would do 3 cubes sealed 9 ported after displacement. 175 inches of port to start and tune to 45hz Shrink the port if the subs unload after testing, just put 3/4 inch birch inside it shrink to 160ish test then maybe 150 ish prolly not 175 seems legit Im no genius.Many on there know way more than me You arnt running a huge power the the big box would help, but the small sealed chamber will bebefit when you actually decide to wire ur amp down or get more power I would reccomend you read the thread on caco called " why 4th orders arnt loud" hankmunch or something I don't remeber his exact name has a ton a great info Ray (dc98hoe) pointed me to that direction to read some of the best info I've ever gotten about 4th orders!

What berto said is right tho^^^^ U can always go bigger on ur ported area to increase the ratio, if u add power ull want a small sealed big ported ish Ideally you want to tune the ported section to the resonance of the sealed section so build that first then put the loading wall on last with the port tuned to that sealed resonance in the car

3 sealed 7 ported tune to 48 imo I like the port area 43 seems a lil low And y run at 2 ohms? Not lower?

I did this with single 18 had great sucess, 136inches of port maybe bigger 155 ish Had 3 cubes ssealed6 ported if you can I could do 3 sealed 7 to 9 ported with more port Look on caco look up y 4th orders arnt loud hanchmunch or something has a ton of good info too! you want to tune the ported chamber to the resonance of the sealed chamber Thanks ray for all the great input

I had the 1/8" plexi leftover from something else, tint cost me $17 for the roll at O'Reilly. Switch was $4 at Radio Shack. Asthetically it wouldnt be my first pick but it was the smallest push on/off I could find locally. So it cost me the price of the unit, sacrificing of a perfectly good mirror, $21 in parts (plus maybe $10 worth of plexi...?) and an hour of work. It'll be weird to have the mirror up again, it hasn't been there in at least 3 years... what style mirror is that? what car is it from? im waiting for the green to come out then maybe ill rehang my mirror, they always seem to break
