yes i was quoted locally.. so yea you can laugh.. when i was trying to buy one everyone was out of stock, so i looked around locally and thats how much they were.. not 6000, 600 after shipping cost and taxes..

actually for 200 i think you can get a kicker amp and 2 12's comps in a kicker box ported.. if i'm not mistaken..

yea all the statements are true... if you go around to the other audio shops, what do you see... 10's, 12's, and few 15's.... but where are the 18's...........they're sitting at the warehouse. Ive been to many shops around houston, and not a single shop stocks the 18's.. there's not a market for them from your everyday customers... so don't stock them.. only sell them if someone has the money to build a system for 1 or 2 18's...

oh you said 15 in subs now you're talking about your 12's... i was speaking on behalf of the 15's, which subs you gonna use, the 12's or 15's for the new box?

the cutout for the subs is generall anywhere from 14 in to 14.25 but the alpines are 14 1/16, its generally 15 to 15 1/2 with the gasket and frame around it

every car is different when i did my very first box, i built a box with sub back and port back, and it sounded alright and then built another but subs up and port back and it got louder, then i did subs up and port towards cabin and sealed it off and got louder again.. so its all about testing and seeing what you like...what you could also do is get a sub and box from a friend and do all the nessary setup and see what sounds best for you. Again every car is different due to peak frequency

ok you have 2 options, slot port on side or in middle on same side of subs, or do subs up, port back and you can deal with 5 or 6 4 in round ports , take a pic and i'll sketch one up

do a slot port.. you will end up with too much port noise with 4 in round ports...

ok hold on... first of all what kind of car is it.. is the box in a trunk, or is it a wall or a truck or what...

if you wired them in parallel you would get .5 ohm load

thats what i thought it was but wasn't sure if he was just drawing up a sketch of an idea or whatnot... but i have no experience with those kind of boxes, but my guess would be he would need lots of airspace for this type of blowthru for 6-8 inchers...since its going into a trunk with limited space
