You will need to address both vibration noise and air borne noise. Use a vibration dampener like Second Skin's Damplifier Pro or Spectrum spray on deadener. To address the air borne noise you should use a MLV like Second Skin's Luxury Liner Pro to absorb the airborne noise and also to act as a barrier with the vinyl backing. Damplifier and Damplifier Pro would be better suited for the metal on the doors but customers have installed it in small pieces on panels before with success. We do offer Over Kill and Over Kill Pro to attach to ratteling door panel parts. "Spaying spectrum on the entire trunk may seal it but it all depends on where the water is coming from really. if its a hole in the body and you tape over it and spray spectrum over the tape then ya problem solved but say its the seal on a light or something like that then what your planning on doing wouldn't do anything to stop that" Great advice from EmperorJJ1............But you will have a nice and deadened trunk even if the leak is elsewhere :-) Good Luck with your project.
