  1. im running a pair of type Rs on 1200rms. due to space limitations, one of these alignments seems like it would work best for my car, but i have no clue how they would end up sounding. throw me some "IMO"s! will either of these cause a cancellation? or a gain?
  2. bolts is the best way to do it. It secured and air sealed. what can i use to keep the bolt from spinning when i connect the wires? i dont wanna take a sub out and hold the bolt every time i wanna rewire from 4 ohms to 1.
  3. ik this is so offtopic, but we should meet up, i wanna get a demo of your set up! looks amazing.
  4. so easy to make yourself, youtube how to flare them. super cheap too!
  5. Thats right. yeah i still have all of that junk somewhere around here. ill pm you with my email
  6. im really diggin that idea as well. i would only do 15s if i had more than enough space.
  7. IMO, i think 15s in trunks are kinda iffy. Do-able, but iffy. I have a friend with 1 P3 15 on 600rms in 5 cubes. Another of my friends has 2 P3 15s in 1600rms in 6 cubes. both are trunked cars. The single 15 on 600rms KILLS the 2 15s on 1600. make the most out of that trunk man, id try a single 15 with a good amount of clean power in 5 or 6 cubes, tuned low.
  8. i had the same problem with my trunk. i dont like firing port towards the cabin, because it seems to me that low end response isnt as good. i tried sub up, port back and it sounded great. idk how small an impreza trunk is, but with my car, i did 32w x 14.5h x 24d with a port that was 13h x 4w and 19 inches long, tuned to 35. left me with about 4 cubes after port displacement. crystal clear and hit lower than a mothafucka
  9. every other source is telling me that for the box size, a 6" would be too small, and an 8 would be perfect. I plan on subs back, port side. Does it really matter what side the port fires from?
  10. i talked to one of the guys from TNESPL on the phone today and I ordered one of these ports. It will be for a pair of Type R 12s in a 4.3ft box, should be tuned around 33hz. How will this sound over a basic slot port?
  11. lol i dont want my daily driver to be 4400watts. box rise... If he doesn't want a 4400 watt DD, he doesn't want a 4400 watt DD. Box rise doesn't change the fact it is more power than he wants to run. i really dont understand this box rise thing.
  12. I had one and I was very pleased with it off an aq1200. If you didn't know, its a Lvl4 with an inverted dustcap yeah thats why I want them, DCs with better prices haha. whats an inverted dustcap though?
  13. nononoooo hahaha im just running some type rs on an AB VFL 80.1 till the car takes a shit (which is soon i hope). Im lookin into some trailblazers or explorers.
  14. than you gonna need to add extra battery or 2. just stick with 2 hdc 15 with aq2200. decept price and good quality yeah i was already planning on getting a HO alt and a beefy kinetik
  15. or should i look into a 3k American Bass amp? Im thinking they could handle 1500 apiece... i get a deal on american bass, thats why im asking.
  16. Im just brainstorming ideas for my next car or truck (getting this fall). i'm thinking 2 subs, mainly because i'm a "never satisfied" type of guy. I know (vehicle depending) that one sub wont do it for me. if i end up getting a coupe or hatch, yeah all i'll need is a 15, but then again, if i end up just getting one sub, im gonna want 3k+.
  17. im also looking at these Tech Force Igor series by DC audio. any info?
  18. i have been thinking about my next build. just a really loud daily driver, not underpowered, and not pushing any limits. i really want a pair of HDC 15s or 18s, but i also want enough power to get things poppin. would the aq2200d be enough for 2 HDCs? i heard they can handle alot more than 1000rms apiece. any info would be helpful!
  19. id go with the AQ. I would completely direguard the powerbass and RE. Personally, i think i would do a hifonics BRZ2400d...maybe.
  20. you run the rca's from the HU to the DR amp input. Then run rca's from the DR amp output to the Warhorse input i believe, someonw correct me if im wrong.
  21. hahaha honestly thats really good advice, i was actually thinking of doing that.
