  1. Are y'all on crack..... Just use the liner straight up. It doesn't matter if it goes hard. It is not going to crack on moving panels. I bet none of you run trucks with a real bedliner in it? We throw heave ass shit in out trucks, heavy enough to dent the floor of the box, drag stuff out of the box, and 90% of liners hold up no questions asked. So if you think a little vibration from your system is going to make it flake off.....think again.
  2. Sorry dude, but you are asking things that are basic concepts in the audio biz. Most fuse holders will only accept up to 1/0. If you are running 2 100 amp fuses, why do you need a 300 or 400 amp fuse?
  3. a 153 on an ac mic......grab a lab and see what ya do. I bet that 4 gauge gets pretty toasty. What are you fusing the 4 gauge with right now?
  4. Doh..... Get fuses, lots of em. Get someone else to install them as well. Cause if you don't know what you need, you prolly don't know where ya need em. Which means you prolly do not know how to set your gains, which means you are prolly clipping the shiat outta yer subs, which means you are gonna be back here in short order asking what happened to your system, which means I am gonna haveta bust yer balls again about doin something dumb again. Please for the love of god, don't let yer wallet do the talking, please engage your brain, and get someone qualified involved. Quote of the day - Some people are armed with just enough information to think they are capable, but in reality are gonna hurt themselves or someone else.
  5. Wonder what the box specs are for the lvl 6's and what sizes are going to be avail?
  6. Wow......ever been on a forum before pussnutz? I bet if you Google 300 amp fuse, you might get something. You seem like a lazy facker lookin for handouts.
  7. Basically what I mean is if you had a screwdriver straight up and down, while turning, tap the end of the grip with a hammer while turning. You must be coordinated to do this.
  8. Drill, extractor bit for the farked one. Heat works too. Or of you are a hex, try finding a driver for it, and tap the end of the hex driver while twisting. The vibration should help like an impact wrench.
  9. Don't skimp on the deadener..... What would ya rather do....go back and change out subs or components for better quality ones, or gut your interior again to put better dampner down?
  10. I dunno, I think my suggestions are pretty solid. Even with his install, the Polk SR would look damn nice in it. Doesn't need crazy power, and is one of the better subs on the market for sq at a reasonable price.
  11. You could also look into these for subs: Alpine - Type X Polk - SR Image Dynamics -IDMax A lot will depend on your available airspace/box design.
  12. So I did some horse trading for this VFL 500.1. I get it, and it turns out the previous owner lost 2 of the speaker set screws and somehow broke one of the power set screws. So if anyone has extras from a dead amp layin around, I need them. I know I can go to the hardware store and look for some black or silver bolts, but I don't wanna look like farmer bob jimmy rigged crap. I know they are the same screws used in other amps with the same board, so hopefully someone here has spares. Please hit me up if even if you have just 1 screw. Thanks
  13. Iirc A-team said he has guys puttin down 2k daily to lvl 4's with no problems. You just have to know how to set your amps up correctly. And I believe the OP came in here asking what amps to run, hence he doesn't know what kind of power he wants to throw at them.
  14. You do not need an alt for 1k watts. Go to audio savings right now.....HFI1000D Hifonics - RMS Power at 1 ohms: 1000 watts x 1 chan = $154 each for the next 7 hrs or so. Hell for that price get 2, and run 1 per lvl 3. Edit - Get 2 lvl 3 15's dual 2, put an amp on each and get a group 31 batt.....have fun.
  15. Pretty hard to recommend something when you give a guy nothing to work with. Budget? Usage? Electrical system strength? How many subs ya want to run? What configuration for coils?
  16. Very nice. That poor jimmy..... I think Clay needs to remove every bolt in Jimbo and loctite em all and reassemble.
  17. http://www.audiosavings.com/index.aspx Check there.....sponsor n the board too.
  18. Personally I think they should use all their products on their vehicles. Then they can literally show people the application of where to put it, and how much is needed. As for myself, and my megacab.....I am going to be a very very poor man once I am able to get everything needed to make "Tomb like silence".
  19. http://www.bcpdesigns.com/ But here is the specs for the vfl to remind everyone. At 1 ohm they match up pretty good (that and Rusty said I should go with the 1/.25 combo....lol) 1 x 1400W @ 4 ohms (14.4V - 1% THD) 1 x 2650W @ 2 ohms (14.4V - 1% THD) 1 x 3200W @ 1 ohm (12V - 1% THD) 1 x 4700W @ 1 ohm (14.4V - 1% THD) 1 x 5600W @ 1 ohm (16V - 1% THD) 1 x 7100W @ 1 ohm (18V - 1% THD) Signal to Noise : 85dB Damping Factor : 200 Efficiency : 75%
  20. .5 should be about 5k, and .25 (from my reading on the net) should be about 6500-7k
  21. I would, but no room. And yeah, prolly will go with the dual 2's to give the .25 comp and 1 daily.
