  1. If the amp is not shutting off it's fine -- it is not unusual for a high powered amp that is putting out high power to be warm
  2. 15" Z v.2 is 8 7/8" deep NS v.2 is 10 1/4" deep Z v.3 is 9 3/4" deep
  3. This pre-order will be ending in around a week or so... maybe less. So if you want to get an amp on pre-order now is the time.
  4. These will most likely be in this week... so pre-order closed.
  5. All three have a 220mm diameter magnet. The Z v.3 has a magnet boot so is a bit wider with that installed. Would help if I knew what size woofer you needed depth on
  6. I will also be adding an internal aluminum shorting ring standard on these -- a feature not commonly found on woofers in this category. This reduces inductance, flattens the inductance curve, improves power delivery by lowering reactive rise, and also is a bit of a heat-sink (minimal). Our Z v.2 (and v.3) and Nightshade v.2 models feature this as well and I decided to trickle it down
  7. If you just want to use one knob then a telephone cord y-splitter will do that -- simply put an input into each master amp from that. You will still need to match both pair of amps gain.
  8. No, you cannot. You can do two pairs, though.
  9. The X-12 will be around $285 MAP or so -- similar progression in pricing difference per size as the SA line as well.
  10. Typically we don't check all of our e-mails over the weekend. If you used the contact form that goes to Brandon now and he will get back with you shortly.
  11. Nah, he didn't actually say that YET
  12. He may also consider X-12/15s when available
  13. Yes, the original coils were also USA made but they were 4-layer round aluminum. I expect around 20% increase in thermal power handling + a gain in motor force factor from more wire density in the gap. So both louder and more power handling. The flat wire also allows both the D1 and D2 to have the same winding width (coil length) -- round wire is dictated simply by diameter so the D1 had to be a bit shorter to fit the gap. With flat you can change the flattening ratio and both the D1 and D2 can be the same WW and OD. Very handy
  14. E8 v.2 and more SA-8s are coming in with this shipment -- they are NOT sold out. We do still have some SA-15s but I need to make sure we have enough to cover anyone in case some were broken, fail QC, etc.
  15. LoL... the #1 selling product by total units is still the SAZ-1500D but it has a head start as it was one of our very first products. The SA-12 will soon over-take that, though It will be our #1 seller by total units very very soon.
  16. Few sneak peaks of the new place -- not a "new" building but new to us and MUCH bigger than what we have now. Will hold all the new products that we are planning to introduce and more of what we currently offer Our place now has been great for the last few years but we simply cannot fit everything in it any longer! We'll be starting construction on our office / work area shortly in the far back right hand corner pretty soon as well.
  17. So our warehouse is fairly empty right now -- but we have all sorts of inventory coming into stock within the next two weeks or so! We are working hard to prepare for it as there will be a TON of shipping going on. Hopefully the Holiday season doesn't delay delivery for too many folks who put in pre-orders -- I think it will probably take us a full 5 or 6 work days to get all of the pre-orders out to everyone once everything arrives; I am planning to work late as well during those days to speed it up as much as possible... currently expecting our shipments to be in around December 12th to 15th (of course this could change but we'll keep you guys up to date). Most of the SA-15s are already sold so we'll likely be out before my next batch arrives... good news on that is the next batch is going to be bigger than this one and is due in February, so we shouldn't be out of them for too long. The year is coming to an end and I'd like to say thanks to all of our customers who have been patient with everything going on the last quarter -- primarily being out of stock of nearly everything for the last month or two! This was due to some things we've been working on to expand for next year -- I expect stock to be much stronger in 2011 by FAR, though, and we are moving into a much bigger warehouse to facilitate the additional stock in January. So - thanks again to all our customers for making it all possible !
  18. Once I get one in a 15" we will do it !
  19. I am extending the pre-order for a little while longer in case anyone wanted to get in on it but wasn't able to before the end of November. I will run this until I get notification that the amps are on the final truck on their way to our warehouse. We expect the amps within 2 weeks or so based on the latest information -- updates will be posted as they come in.
  20. It is solder flux if you mean the brown stuff on the solder tabs.
  21. They will be price very competitively, yes.
  22. Hehe Well you know how I roll on make sure products handle much more than rated power
  23. It is possible -- the X-8 needs to have all the tooling molds completed first.
  24. A few pre-production changes are going on... 1) I am changing these to 8-layer flat aluminum coils from the currently tested 4-layer round aluminum coils. 2) This will raise the cost to about the same as the Z v.2 price now, so they won't be cheaper now -- these coils are about 2.5x more expensive than the 4-layer round units. Good news is they provide enough benefit that I decided to go this route on the driver for the stock coil I am sure nobody will be let down by the added benefit. Otherwise the pictured units with chrome motors are what will be produced.
