  1. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/111452-sa-8-pre-order-thread-for-june-2011/ Original ETA was July 20th to 31st in Post #2 I updated in Post #16 to start it was looking more like end of July to first week of August -- the first week of August is still good last update I got. I will personally be out of town that week but the guys will get out as much as they can while I'm away.
  2. I got some photos of the prototypes in from my factory -- they are looking good. Of course the terminals will be bent down and whatnot in production. The motor is equal to the NeoPro-8 model. The only negative is that I am not sure how pricing will go on these Neo drivers -- Neo prices are going crazy and it may result in the NeoPro drivers rising in price. For reference... I got Neo quotes for my big Neo SPL motor and it was 300% higher than in 2009 -- no joke! BUT I will try to keep making them if possible as people really do enjoy them  We'll probably do some testing in Derrick's ride to see how they do.
  3. I did some time ago before the pre-order -- but they weren't out when I did this round-up : http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/38593-saz-2500d-pre-sale-open/
  4. Correct -- WoofersEtc has a strong supply of them.
  5. Yep, the Russian's have both of them Doing killer numbers with them too -- which they will post up soon I'm sure.
  6. how about the x 8 progress any updates on that beast Wish I had something for you -- we had to depart from our normal factories to make that model and it's been delay after delay after delay! As soon as I have ANYTHING I will put it up
  7. Check the SSA thread for updated availability -- then my Paypal is [email protected]
  8. I am testing some mid-level components -- but not ETA just yet.
  9. Yes. We have some of the older ones laying around but for the most part new units are shipping -- WoofersEtc.com ordered stock of all sizes in the new units.
  10. A few updates... decided to bring this back from the dead. When I made this thread what I was talking about for the "E Series" turned into the SD-2 series. I then started on a more "true" E series driver with stamped frame and 2" coil -- which I am still working on. --- SA-8 development moved even farther into what is going to start shipping first of August : http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/50181-sa-8-v1-newest-production-pics/ A full v.2 model is still in the works. All of the SA revisions I spoke about were finished -- pole cap change and venting ring. We then took it another step farther and added a magnet ID shorting ring. --- What I was calling the "X" line will have a different name but is still in the works -- I am still pushing the SA series envelope for the v.2 model and all the changes I am making for the SA will go into this line right off the bad. Some different names entertained : "SAX" Series, "SD-3" Series --- The Monster v.2 concept DID get made : http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/48820-monster-v2-prototype-due-soon/ About to test that soon! --- I all but stopped development on Neo based subwoofers for a while to concentrate on our "bread and butter" lines -- eventually I'll revisit this area.
  11. I am making it as a 12" for my car -- small sealed box... will be dropping an SAX-200.4 in to run it off a pair of channels bridged So yes
  12. I am designing it with the best SQ in mind. It will stand up there with some of the very best on the market bar-none. As a result of using such a well vented motor, though, it will be pretty rugged too -- so will have some good output potential as well.
  13. If I like it enough I'll offer it to customers -- as it's based on the NS v.2 motor I don't need any new motors to offer it
  14. Initial estimates peg the Qts at mid-levels -- if so it will be ported or sealed. I plan to use this one sealed in my car when completed.
  15. So... what if I took a Nightshade v.2 motor and made it into an SQ woofer ? Well... that is what I'm about to do! Calling it the "NSQ" Full length copper shorting sleeve added plus under-hung coil ! The sleeves finished up today at a local machine shop... coils are being made down in Florida. * Full 1 mm thickness So this is one meaty "SQ" driver Coils are being made as well.
  16. I am still working -- finalizing changes for the SA series v.2 which I will incorporate into this at initial launch.
  17. http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/obsidian-audio/91708-pacos-build-log-12x-oa-12s.html Paco's Build Log
  18. That is "Taco" -- our other intern Paco got the truck
  19. I am bugging him to make a log. I am part owner of Obsidian so it's all good
  20. So I ended up selling this truck to summer intern "Paco" -- he started on a build for 12 x 12" Obsidian woofers.
