Yeah, I have mine with about 1.5 cu Ft. in each chamber and they sound good and move like hell [way more than they're supposed to]. I also have them stuffed with almost a pound of polyfil per chamber. CVR's are pretty good for the money in my opinion, or you can go up a step to the DC's, Fi's, or something else. A single Type R ported would prolly get plenty loud off 900rms.

You will probably have to go to DC's website and email Rusty for a quote. DC soundlab or something like that is the site. They are very up and coming.

Can I ask what school you're at cause I know a lot of schools have a no weapon policy in the dorms. unless you are off campus

so far L7 sounds like your best option with that amp and staying in a decent price range with a single sub setup. Of course you can check out DC audio and get some lvl2's or 3's. I have my CVR's [at the moment] in a modified prefab box giving them about 500rms each and they are louder than most prefab ported box's around my area. but I do think you will be better off with 2 12's sealed vs 1 ported.

I would do them all facing up if there isn't room to face them all backwards. I have done port forward and back in my car and I thought back was louder, just depends on your car. Never had it metered but it was noticeably louder with port back. Just make sure to give it plenty of port area, those subs are gonna move some air. You're gonna need lotttttsssss of sound deadening. are these 12's, 10's, 15's I'm not aware of many trunks, even an impala that can fit 4 15's ported with a large enough box.

Depends on what you are wanting. How many cubic feet are you willing to dedicate? this will be a big factor. I have had my CVR's sealed and ported and they surely prefer the ported box. Would you be interested in 2 shallow mount subs? Lots of options depending on the sound you want.

What size subs? Sealed or Ported? What is your max dimensions? What kind of car? This info will help us get an idea of what you are working with. but i'm just trying to save you from what the experts are gonna say, try them both.

I'm a kicker man [since I live in oklahoma] but I would love to get a chance to work with any of the Fi subs. Neither one is a bad choice though. My next system will be either DC or Fi, just for experimental reasons.

Its gonna be hard to get 4 ported in there in less you have a good trunk layout. each will need atleast 1.5 cubes, and i recommend 2 cubes for each. you may have to build the box in the trunk. but where there is a will, there is a way.

Do you have measurements? are you wanting sealed or ported?

i use one in my 01 taurus, probably very similar to yours, and mine works amazing. I have two amps, and 10 aftermarket speakers all with a factory deck.

I have some fiberglass designs I have sketched with a skeleton design but i doubt you want to invest that much time. It was very hard for me to make my first fiberglass box. If none of these look good to you i can try and do some sketchups on my own, but all of these designs should give you more output that a factory box. How much power are you giving the CVR's? i run mine around 500 rms daily and they do great. on very rare occasions after a long hour of playing the subs may get warm but they otherwise do just fine. I have accidentally ran them both on 800 rms beacuse I forgot to reset my gain. They didn't sound too great but man was it loud. Not a good idea though, i'm lucky they didn't blow right then. Hope some of this helps, if not just let me know.

I need to go to my other computer to access the box plans. U will need: sheet of 3/4 mdf 1 1/2 drywall screws one box bottle of decent brand wood glue [titebond] the best way i have found is to go to a lumber yard to get the mdf. It may cost a little more, but they will usually cut it for me in my exact dimensions for free. as far as cutting tools, there are many ways to cut the circle's for the subs. and as far as finishing, the possibilities are endless, search around for something you like. I used spray paint. it cost me around $40 for all the supplies plus i bought a jigsaw for cutting the circles [$20]. i learned how to build my box from this site, just read through some of the build logs in the member profile section. if you can get me your desired dimensions and tuning i could get you some designs by this time tomorrow.

Have you considered keeping the CVR's and building a custom box for them? the box from kicker isnt terrible, but if you had a box you made yourself it could improve your output tremendously. I have several designs for CVR 12's at around 4 cu ft and 30 hz. i could even design one for you exact dimension free if you wanted to try and build one. i bought my CVR's in the kicker "livin loud" box and when i made my own ported box it was a dramatic improvement. I can compete with lower end pairs of 15's. let me know if you want to see some possibilites

I'm looking for a simple 200-500 rms 10" sub. If i get one of the konaki's that is rated for 400 rms and only give it about 300 rms, will it handle it okay? The install i'm doing this for is not focused on sound quality or looks but some SQ with decent volume [for a 10] would be good. The only reason i ask is because these subs are very cheap This will be a sealed box in an 91 camaro Thanks

so the port length would be from the front of the box, around the L, and down the back side? do i need to double the width of the port coming out of the middle since it will be joining two smaller ports? is the dividing block i had in my origial drawing necessary? sorry for all the questions, but with a break in school coming up i may have time to build this if i get it planed out soon enough. thanks again for the help.

that is almost exactly what i've got now . that looks like a good box, but i would like the port to be in the center if possible, either a dual chambered box with a shared port or a CRX stle that i still can't find much informatin about. anyone care to help with the center port idea?

any ideas? i've done some more looking on this forum and i like the CRX style boxes, but i can't figure out how to design one. Anyone have one skethed up with a port diagram so i can see how they are built? I know i may seem indecisive, but i'm open to opinions about what to do. the only thing i can't do is scrap the whole setup and start over. thanks again for your time.
