I can see how I was confusing. I want a 3 way active frontstage and I didn't mean by running it off the deck. I will be investing in either a bit one or ms-8 when funds permit. But if I can run active for the time being off the deck, why not use that to my advantage? As for speaker placement, would I be better off with just or component set and the kids putting all of them in the doors? That would keep it all clustered within a 12" area and might be less cluttered. Or I could still do the two 165s sets with mids alone in the pillars, or just also do the mids in the doors. You people make me feel like I had one post again. Because post = skill.

Damnit ray, I love typing out 2 paragraph PMs and getting the THIS USER CANNOT RECEIVE NEW MESSAGES warning. Wish it would tell me that before typing the novel up. lol I want the best SQ I can possibly get. Im not saying sound good, I want a nice soundstage and imaging, etc. My plan was to do two hertz 165s in each door with tweets in the A pillars. Well now that I want 3 way active, mids are going in the pillars. Will my imaging suck with 1 tweet in each pillar and 1 in each door, or should I keep them centralized to the same location? I also would like to add a set of Q logic kicks, or glass my own. Will adding the tweet down there, 3 tweets shooting in every direction, effect the SQ and imaging etc, or is all that adjustable via time alignment? What would be my best option here? Roughly the PM I tried to send you. May need to make a thread about it in the SQ forum.

Tell him to pm me if he does...I'd just rather not have to redo the a pillars to put mids. Im thinking about adding kick panels after doors are done too...just dont want to overload with too many drivers. I know more isnt always better.

Yours is a 5, those parts havent arrived here at dc yet but if you need somethin superfast I could build ya a XL ^^ Thats customer-fucking-service there boys. -
Yeah from what I hear that swap is a BITCH. Harness swaps, center vent swap, core heater change...I think just customizing my bezel would be a lot less of a hassle than doing a full swap. You think its worth it or would the 9887 do me? Id be willing to go the double din route if you think its that much better. If you do, which do you suggest then? Also...shoot me a pm about some 3" or 4" midrange to run with the hertz when I go 3 way active...want to get them so I can glass them into the pillars with a set of tweets.
-
See I looked into that a while back...is there one that's an easy swap? I thought the jdm style was same basis as the 99-00 civic, in which it is a HUGE pain in the ass to convert. Have to change the center vent and blower motor housing and harness, etc. I dont know it all though...so please give me your insight.

Congrats dog. -
Well I drive a civic right now and a double din won't fit without fabrication, which I'd rather wait to do till I try my door panels and a pillars for some glassing practice. Ray, so are you suggesting the 99prs or the 800 prs? And what's the point of the iPod control not being built in? Just not enough room in the brain or a more sophisticated system? Hobby, shoot me a pm with pricing on it...I rarely use CDs and worse comes to worse I can use a cd changer. If you don't hit me up I'll shoot you a pm later.

Cant find any 800s for sale...does the 800 have USB? I dont see it in the photos and their site says you need a fucking adapter that needs to be wired in sperately for ipod use. Any insight on this?
-
Not sure what that means..but sounds important. I think you sold me Ray...depends on which one I can find at a good price I guess.

i bet no one can figure this one out
tonedeaf replied to bmph8er's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Power wire grounding on the car somewhere. Replace your whole positive run if need be. Check batteries on the DMM. Does it still work alright or just terribly low voltage there? Could be a bad distro block as well...somethings keeping it from distributing right. I also wouldnt hot switch shit into the car too much...you can fry shit like that. -
Remember seeing the review on caco for it and it was good, but the op actually liked the 9887 more. Of course the ipod controls is probably the main reason...ill look more into it though. Theking, ill look at her too.

Im looking for headunits that can compare to the Alpine CDA 9887. Im looking all over the place and cant find one that isnt already sold on forums or isnt broken, and th3ere isnt any on fleabay, so im at a loss. Im willing to look at other Headunits, but havent used any of the nicer ones, so what do you guys suggest? Ive seen people like the Kenwood x9950 series, are they comparable to the 9887 in terms of EQ and features and reliability? Ive heard about many issues with them. What about any pioneers that might rival it? I want the best sound quality and output I can get in a single din. I also pretty much have to have an ipod integration. So, any suggestions?
-
mind goin indepth? lol thats just about all i know damn i was hoping someone would know how brazil is doing it. aside from sprinkling crack on the inside I just rub cheetah blood on it.
-
Once I buy the headunit, between $600 and 1200z. The higher up it gets though I'll probably have to either make a couple payments or save up longer for the next amp that comes along.
-
The alpine from caco fell through so bumping this...need a 9887 asap. Also have a Rf t1000-1 bd in the for sale section to help fund/or trade. Would also consider a unit comparable to the alpine, but my first choice is the 9887.

But if he wanted to give speedball a try, take an hour or so trip to find a field, why not have a gun that can do both very well? I've seen a TON of people go spend a fuckton on their a5s and shit and then want to speedball and are at a disadvantage. I did my share of woodsballing and used all my speedball guns for it just fine. You don't need camo and a 10 pound gun to woodsball. <.<
