  1. I dunno either, but it's something to try out. Got any other ideas fellas???? If it sounds like total ass, at least we'll know never to try it again...LoL.
  2. its resonance would be like woah. it would have to be about 1/2" thick for it not to resonate. What about putting dynamat inside the box to keep it from resonating so much??? I'm not saying to line the WHOLE inside of the box with it, just enough so it don't ping so much.
  3. You could put rods through the box to keep it from flexing. Just like in an MDF box. We'll find out...at least I'm determined to find out here soon. Well, after New Years, but I'm gonna find out how it sounds. I'll take pics, make vids, and give box specs after I try it. I just gotta find someone with a welder and some free time to help out.
  4. Maybe 1/2" steel would be closer to 3/4" MDF. But then I risk having too much flex from not enough thickness. I think 3/8 would be the best bet. It's only for one 12. 3.06 cubic ft is what's recommended for this sub.
  5. So you think maybe 3/8" steel plate would work good for a trial box???
  6. Hopefully that will never have to happen though. LoL
  7. Probably not...she has a pretty big ass. But if it meant living or dying....................................nah prolly not. LoL.
  8. Very true...so sad, but true nonetheless. Well, if the world ever got nuked, I could hide out under my mother-in-law and I would prolly survive the blast....LMAO.
  9. It will crack if you don't let it set long enough before stressing it. Concrete only cracks at spots that are thin/weak or an area that has air bubbles around it. But I ain't tryin to work with concrete.
  10. Is that the HOE without the rims and drop that I spy in the background???? Damn, it WAS normal at one point and time, LoL.
  11. Very true, but I'm not talking about 3/4" metal plate here....maybe 3/8" at the most. Yeah it would still be heavy, but I'm thinking just the box, w/o sub, would prolly weigh about as much as my current box w/ sub installed. And that's about 50-60 lbs.
  12. That's what I was thinking. What do you guys think is thick enough though???
  13. That's just all jacked up with the mounting diameter way off like that. The only sub I've ever seen with a 12" or more mounting diameter is the new Fusion line of 12's. They have a mounting diameter of almost 12 7/8".
  14. I know the weight would be un-godly, but if the sound would be that much better, why not try it at least??? What about a steel box like someone else mentioned??? Like, if you used all 1/4 or 3/8 inch steel plate to weld up the box. How do you think that would work out???
  15. Just noticed this on the box, why would you have 3 of the mounting holes as 1' in diameter, and 1 of them as 11 1/2" in diameter????
  16. Would it be possible to build the entire box out of marble??? I'm sure you could, somehow, I just don't know.
  17. I've been thinking about that for the last few days. But I dunno how it would end up sounding since the metal resonates so much....Guess it would depend on how thick the metal is though.
  18. Very true....I think that IF North Korea tries anything on anyone, it would South Korea or China before anyone else. S. Korea just because of the split in the country and that would piss off any country. And China because they are such huge rivals in terms of making the rest of the worlds cheap electronics. LoL, but true. S. Korea has way to much U.S. influence to do anything dumb. Hell, the military stationed in S. Korea helps their economy almost as much as they do themselves. Even though they aren't doing anything big or threatening towards anyone these days, I would say that China would be the country that would pose the biggest threat to the U.S. just because of their size and the fact that they have the biggest Army in the world. So they could pretty much crush any other country on Earth if they really wanted to.
  19. damn I got my own space for my job...wow. sorry about posting off the topics too...just kinda happened. works for me though, I understand why.
  20. The only bad thing about the job is that I work from midnight--noon saturday and sunday, and midnight--8am monday and tuesday. So I don't get to see my family much. And I'm workin on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day. But it's time and a half ($13.50/hour), so I'm down for that much an hour to watch tv...LoL.
  21. Same thing I was thinkin. I like that slammed, black, Continental though, til I saw the Audiobahn crap in the trunk...eww. They look sweet as hell like that, and you can't go wrong with factory suicide doors.
  22. There were only a few of us that said anything about this topic...then nothing. Are people scared to say what they think about our "Great President and the wonderful job he is doing"???
  23. Bump...I wanna see what other people have to say about this.
