  1. When listening from your computer: What music player do you normally use? If you selected other, post here and share what it is (I tried to nail all the major ones, but we'll see
  2. Before: I had hair a bit past my eyes. I wanted it to be midway up my forehead... (no picture) And the after
  3. I go to get my haircut, tell them to do what they did last time (since they keep it in the computer) and the stylist pulls out a #5 for what I thought was my sides and back... But nooooooo - she keeps going all the way up to the top of my head. By the time she stopped(after much freak-out by me) - the deed was already done. So now I sit, with a solid #5, my head looking like a grape. Sweet..... /rant
  4. "It's called the camera picking up distortion. Crunch amps are made by Maxxonics which are pretty much the best around. Good luck finding a 100% efficient amp out there that isn't made by them." -
  5. $30000 and 10,000 watts Seriously, there is a MAJOR question in my mind of how 'user friendly' the power source will be. I see it going 1 of 2 ways: 1 - Rewire the circuit to 2 or 4 gauge and put the darn thing on it's own 100 amp breaker, or fill it with batteries of some sort to 'soak up the excess' and have the thing draw as much power it can from whatever it's plugged into. Or it might just be Behringer style 10,000 watts and the thing is only 3k rms And that is quite a sobering amount of airspace. Can you say cone area?
  6. Fixed And Sundown, Fi, DC Sound Lab, Ascendant Audio, DAD, Digital Designs, Robot Underground, Audioque, PSI(for repair) Robot underground? I've heard nothing but bad about them I might be thinking of someone else then

  8. Because prefab is usually made of junk wood. And they also make sacrifices in acoustical quality & output to cater to a market that wants something small/compact/cheap. There is a bunch to learn in terms of design - but all you need to know (for this thread at least) is that they are too small to be able to sound good. I have my own box coated in truck bed liner and I like it better than carpet. You can also paint, cover in vinyl, or any other finish you want if you do your own vs. being stuck with generic brown / grey carpet
  9. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Rockford+Fosgate+P1+15+Specs 4th link down. FYI - Thread-jacking isn't exactly the greatest way to make an intro to SMD. Welcome to the forum. Sorry Im kind of a nub to all this audio language. My box is like wooden with some sort of thin black carpetlike stuff wrapping it all. Is this prefab? If you bought it in a store and there are a dozen like it - then yes. If you had it custom designed, and custom built for your specific application and sub - then no. Prefab means pre-fabricated - it's usually a poor excuse for some manufacturers 'best fit' box
  10. Prefab - hunk of junk. Don't even consider Custom - louder, lower, more cone control, just as much SQ as a sealed. I would go ported 9 times out of 10 unless space is a concern - they are slightly larger than their sealed counterparts.
  11. Check out my sig and youll see why... =] /crosses fingers Are you in Washington?
  12. It's the one I use too. Never let me down http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials
  13. I think I can spy a port. I would guess just a standard ported box. Maybe a 4th order with the enormous amount of airspace they have
  14. And 1 more video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZzsHTFsoHg
  15. Here is a video if it helps since it seems like you have a lot of experience with these http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKnbC61x3Cc
  16. ~1200 watts at the moment Give me like an hour and I can have a video up of what it looks like when it makes that sound
  17. yeah the transition problem is exactly what I was talking about I can't tell where my level 5 'transitions'. It sounds fine and happy at all volumes quiet or loud (not like a sq sub, but pretty good)
  18. Level 5s sound fine quiet or loud - but why would you get a level 5 for low volume listening?
  19. NOT including the electrical work and structural reinforcements that will surely have to be made to house something pushing half a ton in weight (although I can't really complain. My stuff weighs 340lbs lol) I haven't found anything on what drivers / amps they would be using and what the required power is. It will be interesting to see
  20. Ok. I can't tell if it has done anything yet since it's late and I don't want the neighbors whining - but it has a good 10-12 hours of play time on it already (about 45 minutes of actually pushing it with some power) in total. I will post back tomorrow if there is any change
  21. What would you recommend I turn it up to? ~30hz? I measured 33hz Fs on it when it was out of the enclosure if that helps with suggesting. I'm not sure how close or far this is from being broken in
