So if i got a HO alt and keep the yellow top. what batt should i get i think the biggest i could do is the 3400 or the next step up in the other location under the hood. Or should i not mix batteries. Dont want to get 2 new batt. and new alt. already spent alot of $$$ on system would only like to spend about 5 or less?

For the batt. that i have Acdelco stock and Op.yellow sec. ??

Kicker @2500.1 at 2 ohms/DC Dual 1ohm sub. and a Jbl 75.2 at 4ohms for the doors. Also the shop said upgrade the alt. bc i'm only getting about 30-40 amp at idle.

First i need to know Two xs 3400 or 1 3100. Or keep what i have and get sec. Alternator 250amp. Went to my audio shop today and the told me that i need to have another alternator installed and not even worry about getting another battery at all for now with the alt. it wont make it that much better. They said that if i keep my system with a new alt. it will charge the opt. yell. fast enough to keep my system going better then if i got a 3100, they said if had the batt, it would have to play n drain n then keep recharging it to much and would wear the battery quicker. Then they told me if would it would take a while to charge the 3100 back up and would have to drive/rev awhile to get it back fully charge. Would like to have my system be able to play a decent amount before having to stop playing. Would like to hear opinions need to know so i can know if i need to get in on the group buy or get an alternator

Should i keep the stock and optima(or change it to the stock batt location) or totally get rid of it and get 2 xs3400(which is what i have heard from a few people) im looking into the group buy. Should i keep both batt. and get one 3400. Dont really want to run another one to the tuck bed though would rather have two. Had to throw something else in they have a 145 amp HO.alt on ebay for 110 should that do better with one new batt., or should the stock and two new batt be better.

Thinking about getting two 3400 they should be enough to power a kicker 2500.1 and a Jbl 75.2 or would i need only one 3400 and a smaller battery or what i have a 03 chevy avalanche. What would be price after discount if you dont mind calculating for me. Do i need the sig. to get the 15% discount.

Just got my torsion keys in today from usps took longer than i thought supposed to be here thurs. they never left notice and didnt try to re-deliver. Will get installed soon and get pics up of the truck. They will give me a 2 inch lift in the front atleast. Cant wait to put them on.

Ummm, your box is too big, if you only have 1 sub... What JBL are you talking about? You said you have a kicker 2500 amp, and a DC sub... Try making sure your gains are set correctly as well... His stock alt is NOT going to produce more amps at idle than an aftermarket one... Sorry... OP, look at doing the big 3 if you havent already done it, make sure your grounds are good and solid... Thanks for help. My box is built to specification from DC for the Level5 18. Wiring done and works perfect its not that, i just need a little more help on how to keep/hold more volts/amp better. My system only hooked up for about 3 days now. Havent even put a full hour of play time on it yet or full power

Thinking about one of these. Besides overcharging battery if set to high does this make your alternator work to hard or long. will it wear it out quicker or is it the same as normal.

Sorry for the length. Alright i am trying to figure out what would be the best thing for me to do what to get some opinions from yall. Right now I have a kicker 2500.1, DC level 5, and Jbl 75.2. also i have a stock gm alternator. Also i have a stock Acdelco battery up front and a second yellow top battery under hood just bought would like to keep but should i get rid of it. just throwing out ideas should i leave the stock alternator and get a second alternator and run the truck accessories and jbl of one alt. to front battery and kicker of the other atl. and battery, should i just upgrade the stock amp to a 200 or higher, should i get a new bigger front and back battery or just a bigger back battery or just add a third altogether and keep everything how it is. Right now if i turn my amp up about half way on my bass knob my system plays for a few seconds well and then drops to about 11/12 not good, i would like to be able to at least play a full song or let it bang hard for a few minutes. i know my sub can handle way more power then i am giving it right now and i really want it to play well. I have a box that is 6.5cub.(sub) port is tuned to 35hz whole box is about 10cub. dont remember port size exactly. Could yall help me out sorry if it seems i ran on and on just want to get it right. Hope yall will actually read all this. Please tell me what would work well, dont want to spend to much money on over kill. Thanks guys. :pardon:

Id say no bc, i have a kicker 2500 and my voltage drops to about 11/12(as soon as that happen i have to get off of it) if i turn my system up to loud for to long with a stock battery and a yellow top. Im prob. going to add a battery and another alt. or a bigger one.

Good job with the build that system is going to pound. Great looking build everything looks clean and you really know how to make great truck. Let me know if you are going threw Atl again i would really love to hear your system. Now all you have to do is go collect your trophies.

Im am going to be building the box right be find the seats i guess it is going to be a blow. but the panel in the avalanche can be removed so i dont have cutting of the actual truck to do just replacing the midgate, which is not to hard to remove. Hoping i may still have room to carry my bike in the back doubt it though will probably have to make custom hook locations. Thanks for the compliment
