i get that but whenever i see boxes i never see the port being more then maybe 4 inches wide. am i calculating port area right? Port h*w heres my old box. plenty of port area just tuned to 41hz....i made a mistake while building it and didnt know.

im adding a second baffle tomorrow and i will make a video of it to show the difference. you need bracing depending on what power you are running. im running a saz-1500 and i NEEEDD bracing.

this is my box i just made for my fi bl 18. without bracing it with mdf heres the dimensions of the box. almost the same as what you want.

finished it today. its a temporary box so thats why it doesnt look very good. this bitch hits lowwwwwwwwwwwwwww but the only problem is the baffle flex. its ridiculous so thursday im adding another baffle to fix it.

what i use and it works like a charm. drag and drop a song, click anywhere on it, go to analyze, then plot spectrum, change the size to 16384, and put the axis to log frequency. and put your mouse on the highest level of the graph and it tells you what hz it peaks at and what db lvl its at. http://portableapps.com/apps/music_video/audacity_portable

monday i am switching boxes. from a slot port to 2 6" aeros. the slot port one is tuned to 41hz (i made a mistake) at 6.5 cubes and the new box im making with the 2 6" aeros is tuned to 27hz and 7.4 cubes. ill comment back to tell you the difference it made.
