I keep "hearing" that loud music is gonna ruin my ears, the bass doesn't bother me because it's low notes, but mids & highs can be piercingly loud & affect my ears at times, what about you? speak to me audio fanatics...

i know i am overdriving my mids and highs a bit and i get that ringing in my ears

Lower the frequency, the lower the energy the wave is. Secondly, your ear has a natural response curve for sound, with lower frequency being harder to hear vs. higher frequency. So that's 2 things right there that lessen the "blow" of loud bass.
