  1. Need to find a Solo X 18 motor boot, please keep your eyes peeled!

  2. Yeah I believe it is a little bit different. Also... I just noticed this episode is on tonight, on the Science channel at 10pm, or 7:00pm your time.
  3. That is awesome results from a "budget" amp. I'm anxious to see a Kicker amp tested, see how they measure up... I have a KX1200.1 I can send in if you need? Maybe I will be converted... RF looks pretty good!
  4. Wow you failed twice! One for the guess.. he wanted the total added together, all six results added to one final number. And two; you then liked your own failed attempt. That is a double fail! Lol Jk
  5. I'll try, sounds like fun! Plus I need shirts BAD!!! So let's see... I say 4,686 watts total. Good luck to all!!!
  6. Well, I just meant the appearance. I guess the caps could have changed things a tiny little bit, but I highly doubt it. They (dust caps) are very light, and simply glued on top of the original inverted caps. Nothing else was touched, coil cone and suspension are all the same. So I wouldn't think they would make any difference, other than looking better Question. What kind of amp is that you are using on them? Is that an old school Kicker? Just curious!
  7. nope i had no idea i seen it so many times, that i don't even stop to watch when it's on anymore the episode is called "best of" and not "power junkies" for that one? Yes sir! Actually it's just called "Top 20". It was a countdown of the best of everything shown so far. You made #5, which was awesome! But I still don't understand why they only gave you #4 on the "Power Junkies" episode, then put you ahead of the Electric band on the "Top 20". The electric band guys only made #8 on the "Top 20" show, which to me, just proves beyond a doubt that you sir, should have been #1 on the "Power Junkies" episode.
  8. Make one for my ride and I'll put up ALL KINDS OF PICS!!! Jk, sorry to threadjack! Super nice looking alternator there. I dig it!
  9. those were yours if you didn't notice lol Ha ha yeah I thought so! Hell yeah! Man I was surprised to hear that. They really should love the low notes, according to their spec numbers. Let me know if you guys aren't happy and I'll try to help you figure it out! But it looks like they are working pretty good in the vid?
  10. Wow that is awesome! I'll be talking to you soon anyway, so now we got even more to talk about!
  11. Only glue. I had pocket holes drilled, but wasn't getting the screws to bite and grab like I needed them to so I scrapped that idea and just glued. Looks like I'll probly be trying to retrofit some screws back into the baffle now. Plus some other things to strengthen it. In the future, if I ever have another angled baffle, I'll be designing it with more stability then just a glue joint. I figured a glued double baffle would be sufficient, but I clearly underestimated what 5000W of DC power can do... Ahh thats the issue. Glue by itself is not quite enough. Even brad nails are better that nothing. But you want something to help hold it. Another option when you cant use screws is those little wood dials that you drill for and insert. That at least gives some support. But if it were me I'd add some steel
  12. Hey Steve, not sure if your aware, but Saturday night they had a "best of" episode, where they made a top 20 out of everything that has aired so far. You made #5 on this list, (ahead of the electric band)! Congrats again! If you didn't catch it, I'm sure it will re-air soon. The episode is called "Top 20". But #5 overall is awesome!!!! Again congrats!!!
  13. Updates on the wall are up! 100% steel bracing FTW!!!

  14. Got my top plate back from machining yesterday, it came out perfect! Now I just have to wait for parts. But overall, I have a really good feeling about this!

    1. Herokight

      Herokight

In for updates, man. I'm diggin' it so far.

  15. Basically yes that's it. Tune low with plenty of space, and the proper port area per foot, and your friend should be happy as could be! Also when you do get it straight please put up a vid of them in action! All the time I had them and I never got to see or hear them do work...
  16. Well I didn't wanna say, but I had a pretty good source
  17. I agree, some serve a purpose though. TI baskets have bigger spider landings and shit like that I believe they will have 10" spiders, don't hold me to it though. This is all just "hear say"... My favorite basket out right now... None better IMHO... I just got 5 of the TI baskets, or frames I like to call them. But I like em too! They are light and strong and sexy 4 sure! I doubt you'd see replicas. Tc sounds holds the patent on them. Love those baskets though, look the tits. Again, don't hold me to this. But I think replicas are already out there. Yes they have the patent, but after so log aren't others allowed to make a re-make, or an "aftermarket" version, sorta like with car parts? I man be wrong, it just seems like it would be the same for everything.
  18. So I heard a rumor that we may in the future be seeing a new 15" m3 Lvl.6. Word is it will have a totally new basket, similar to the m3 8". How freakin' cool would that be? DC FTW!
  19. Still looking for Solo X 18's. These last two motors are gonna be the hardest to get, it seems. But hey, the more difficult this project becomes, the more determined I am to see it thru!

  20. Still looking for Solo X 18's! Check out the bl to see why

  21. Hey Steve, looks like your episode is re-airing tonight, this time on Discovery channel @8:00pm eastern. Dude that is so cool...
