  1. throw up some pics maybe.Remote wire ground wire power wire RCAs and output. does the amp not turn on at all? lilke no blue light? check that the sub wires are in the right holes. Mine at least (SAZ-1500D) has 4 out but you're only supposed to use 2
  2. Tech N9ne FTMFW!!! at first I was trying to figure out what HU you were using, then I noticed that it was an iPad instead.
  3. I have heard this too, but I don't have any research or experience to back it up
  4. this doesn't seem like a good idea.OP if you want to use one sub on that amp the I suggest selling both and upgrading. if you don't then I suggest using ones right now underpowered and if you want more then you can upgrade your saying run two, and upgrade amp latter... ok that makes sence. yes. I don't think you want to make another box when you decide that you want 2 subs instead of 1.

  6. some subs you can indeed go over rating as long as you give it clean power
  7. I think if you gave max dimensions that we would be able to use to determine what you can have in your car. I agree too. If I could do 2 subs on my amp as opposed to 1 sub the same size then I would go with the subs. Cone area is king when it comes to SPL
  8. I don't care what anyone thinks, but I'll be plastidipping my wheels and spoiler tomorrow as well as adding some eyelids to my Zx2

my rims are just stock alloy and the paint on my spoiler is already coming off along with my entire trunk. maybe paint entire car? :P LOL at Bron_Again

  9. nice!!! that looked very easy
  10. lol thanks for double checking.. it's great to have someone looking out for me.I actually do have a D2 subwoofer. Right now it is wired down to 1 ohm. I am not sure if the amp i have is .5 stable or if my electrical is. But i will not take that chance anyway. I will wire it to 2 ohms until I get a better amp. Thanks for the help about the dustcaps.. I have a couple more questions now tho. Will adding the dome dustcap on top hinder the performance of the sub? If not how much do the dustcaps run? It will most likely be the regular silver dustcaps. I have never heard of CA glue remover.. but if CJ says that the dustcap can't be removed without messing up the coil then i rather take his word for it and not try it LOL thanks =) it is a pretty sweet deal it's called debonder or acetone. I'm not sure how this would effect the paper cone thoughedit: don't listen to me though. if you do end up doing a recone at any point though and you screw up like a buddy of mine, you can use debonder on the spider to reposition it.
  11. I would be afraid to use glue, you don't want to botch it too much
  12. what about CA glue remover (deactivator???) and painting and applying your own dustcap Edit: nice grab btw, looks sweet
  13. did that work out good? here's what he did... so the core of the RCA stuck in there is plastic. heat up a pin and shove it in there at an angle so that it melts the plastic core then let cool. then pull it out.you will have to resolder the RCA female unless you don't remove it from the amp
  14. did that work out good? He got it out. It make it easier to work with for sure. I'll ask him how he got it out though. My only dealing in it was taking out the RCA female
  15. same thing happened on my buddy's amp. we took the cover off and actually removed the RCA connect. took it out somehow (he did it) and put it back in. resoldered connections
  16. that takes skill, skill that I one day hope to have. I fucking hate working under the hood. It's like open heart surgery but a great skill. My room mate's girlfriend saw me taking out my alternator to get it fixed and saw me trying to fix the timing belt on my vehicle..... her response was "why don't you just take it to a shop?" ..... fucking pisses me off. If I can fix something by myself instead of being charged out the ass to have a simple job completed then I'm going to do it myself. my other room mate was getting advice on doing a system on his brand new ford focus when my room mate tuned in and said "just take it to a shop and get it done right"..... WTF did you ever see how great of a job I did on my car or are you fucking blind and that ignorant my rant ends here. long story short I couldn't fix the timing belt because the idler pulley had gone bad and I didn't have proper tools to fix it. I trust no shop guys at all for the most part, took my dad an hour of argument to have my timing belt done at a mechanic when I get the money instead of having a good friend of mine who's good with cars to do it, damn tensioner made me change my mind. I kinda don't trust mechanics cause I feel like when I have something fixed, they are gonna fuck up something else, so they force me to bring it to be fixed, so they make more money. Audio shop guys, loololol, I wouldn't even let West Coast Custom touch my audio, I'd be like "no touchy of the audio" car audio shop guys....... I like my local car audio shop, they carry a lot of fosgate stuff and offer reasonable prices. Boss man claims that my amp won't (which I am) run at a .5ohm load.... and he said that doing 4 terminal posts for a single sub won't work (which is). I think you had 4 terminal posts too and I'm sure you're having no problem whatsoever. I explained that with box rise the impedance will rise making it more stable, which it did.I offer to anyone who wants a system to help them out with installment and suggestions. my last build I got a pioneer touch screen double DIN, JL 12" and hifonics amp, and 4 6.5" fosgate punch speakers for $500. I do pretty well when it comes to deals
  17. fuckin EL OH EL. my mom will buy stuff that we know she won't use simply because it was on sale... that isn't smart shopping. smart shopping is buying something that you will use for a good deal

  19. a lot of people in general don't understand the value of opportunity simply because they have no idea how to take that opportunity by the reigns.... that sounds gay as shit. bitches be crazy, I think that sums it up
  20. Hmm, that odd about the ipod, but you should see if you can find music that's unclipped in the 1st place that's not too easy. I guess I better start acquire my music through valid and legitimate sources It's so hard to find music without clipping. I would rather just upgrade audacity and export the modified files in 320mb as opposed to 128mbthe ipod isn't odd, my files on my computer are clipped so they are clipped when I put them on my ipod
  21. it receives a clipped signal because my music is dirty on my ipod Edit: I'm slowing unclipping my music and transfering to a flash drive to use with sub Edit2: I can't type. I'm slowly unclipping my music *
  22. I'm tuned in here. I use my flashdrive for files which I remove clipping... unfortunately they are 128 MB in order to keep 320 I need to upgrade audacity. all music on my ipod is only used when the sub is off. any suggestions?
  23. wow, you have outdone yourself again like usual. a case with the same style would be pretty sick for your VM-1 too
