  1. So I was getting sick of the stock volt gauge in my insturment cluster. It seemed to be not to accurate and only changed every few seconds. So I had two Rockford fosgate 1 fared digital top capacitors that where in the car when I got it, and decided too take the digital top off one of them. Here are some pics, nothing too great but it gives me the actual readout and its fun to watch sometimes. I still got to go back and clean up some of the wires and make sure everything will be secure.
  2. ok... i had too much.. lets leave it at that. at least a 12 pack of coors light. i dont even know how many shots (and fat chicks i danced with), and about 6 sex on the monkeys back which is a specialty drink we made that is mixed with about 6 different types of alchole. . lol It twas a good night.. Oh and putting on the securtiy shirt while drunk as h3ll and getting in a few fights in front of cops after the club closes = pricelesss. PS: i think i sprained my ankel altho it dont seem to hurt much at the momenty. lol
  3. LoL its 8:15pm central right now, and i had 0, but i will be at the bar around 10, ill let you know on how much I had there.. The key thing is, I only got 20 bucks.... but ill be wasted
  4. Depending on how old your video drivers are, you should be able to monitor video card temps. I know I can.
  5. You dont have your volt meter on the correct setting like someone else said. Try a different setting
  6. all those videos are set to private and we cannot view them.
  7. Also, under the fan tab of rivatuner, set all your fan speeds too 100% just to insure that your video card will keep cool! And check the box that says "apply these settings at windows startup". if you got any more questions, just post them up
  8. All you can do in bios for video is either your agp or your pci x port speed, in your case it is the agp. It really doesnt do much, I tried messing with my port speeds in bios and I didnt see a worth while gain in 3dmark programs. Your memory clock is pretty high. I have an evga 7900gt co superclocked (which is overclocked by evga from the factory) that I overclocked farther. For my core clock I am only running 575mhx. For my memory clock im only running 850, which is 1700mhz (you got to remember its doubled for memory), so your video card memory is running over 2200 mhz....... Which is pretty fast. I forget which card you have, but Im susprised it even loads at them speeds lol Id try backing your memory overclock down a bit on your card. At least try 900mhz or maybe a tad bit lower. Just remember a good/stable overclock sometimes takes time, and it is addicting like a crackhead to crack. once you start, you just want more and more
  9. LoL Chris. And us wisconsinites or whatever bang like no otha.. Cant wait to wall off my car with four 15s or two 18s
  10. It has nothing to do with the dmm. I have a $400+ bluepoint dmm that I ordered from our local snapon dealer, and it does the samething. Your car battery is only 12 volt, but batterys will usally read between 12.4 volts and 12.8 with the car turned off and no draw on the electrical system. When your vehicle is on, your alt is charging your battery, most stock alt's charge between 13.8 and 14.6 volts (depending on make and model of your car). Your alt will almost never put out a constant charge that will stay the same because your vehicle will have misc draws, such as radiator fans, heat, ac, fuel pump, lights and so forth.
  11. You can try coolbits, which is an all right program, but with my card, I found that rivatuner gets me a higher overclock then coolbits. Both programs work decently but I like rivatuner better http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?page=rivatuner Just make sure your card is going to be supported and what not.
  12. you can try a different multiplier for your ram where it says cpu/ddr clock ratio. Change it to something lower so your ram will be at a lower freq then try your oc again.
  13. If you didnt change any ram dividers in your bios, your ram should be slightly overclocked from the processor overclocking you did. Just go into cpuz again, and look at your ram frequancy and see what it says. It should be around 200mhz per stick. If it is higher then 200mhz then it is overclocked. I dont know how high you can take your ram up, but Im guessing at least around 220mhz per stick if not a little more giving you ddr440 speeds. BUT remember the more you overclock anything the more juice it needs. My Corsair XMS Pro is getting 2.9 volts (which is maxed out in my bios settings), I dont know if you can up your voltage that high, or where you currently have it set at. Best idea would be to goto corsair.com and find the specs of your memory just so you dont toast it. Open up cpuz again, and post a screen shot of your memory timmings where it says 3-3-3-7 or whatever (under the memory tab of cpuz). Them are usally recomended timings for the ram. I know tho that when I bought mine, my recomended timings wherent correct and could go a lot faster. Id almost try the times im going with in my screen shot of cpuz. 2-2-2-6 with a 1t command rate. Otherwise if that is not stable, try for a 2-3-3-6 and a 1t command rate. I didnt know you where posting that to meade bassjunkie. I remember reading that once Steve installed Windows Vista that he hasnt had any more bsod probloms which is good
  14. Most the time when overclocking, bsod (blue screen of death) is related to a memory error. If you into settings and turn off the thing to automaticly restart after bsod, right down the bsod code and check it online you will know what is causing the bsod. To turn it off, right click on my computer, goto properties, click the advance tab, under startup and recovery click on settings, and where it says system failure uncheck the box that says automaticlly restart. So next time you bsod, it wont restart, it will just site there with that blue screen. Right that long code down, and then once you restart google it to find out the cause of your crash. Cheers
  15. Ok. Im going to make this a long shot, but your ram is what is killing you Your ram dividers seem to be fine at the moment, but the mis matched memory is the thing. I have two 1 gig sticks of Corsair XMS Pro, beautiful memory with the led activity led's But when mixing up 2 different types of ram (ie xms and value select) is where you run into probloms. The xms will have faster timings then the value select ram. The xms will also be more stable then the value select ram. One thing I would try is pulling out your 2 sticks of value select and run your computer with just the xms and try doing your overclock again. and see how that works. Im willing to bet that it is your ram kicking a error. Also another thing too, you cant run faster ram timings with 4 sticks of memory, you can still get your timings pretty tight, but you can run faster timmings with 2 sticks over 4 sticks.
  16. A great overclocking site is overclock.net. they are really helpful there and there is alot of knowledge in their forums. Sorry steve if its not allowed giving out other site names. A helpful program is cpu-z. Again, what kind of motherboard do you have? Asus and DFI are the best overclocking motherboards with the most options for a good, fast, stable overclock. Putting more voltage to your processor or ram will increase your temps. I got a 800mhz overclock on my amd 3700+ san diego processor and run fine, and never peak over 50 degrees C at full load. When you are overclocked, run cpu-z and see what your memory frequancy is. If you are running 2 ddr sticks, your resulting freq should be around 200mhz per stick. Look at my added picture below of my specs in cpuz. It says 174.7, and that is my frequancy per stick, so my resulting frequancy with both sticks would be 349.4 mhz. Do if you got ddr 400 memory, and you are running over 200mhz per stick (400mhz both sticks combined) your ram may be maxing out (or running too fast). Some cheaper brands of memory cant handle the extra speed, and this is when ram dividers come into play. So going into bios and setting a slower divider such as a 266 divider will make your ram speed run slower, but the processor overclock will make up for it, so right now with my system overclocked at 3.0gigs, my ram is running 50.6mhz slower then when Im not overclocked. Also look at your HTT speed in cpuz. You should be no lower then 800mhz, and now higher then 1200 mhz. If you are lower or higher change your htt setting in bios. Mine is at 1080.4 which is right in the middle of the two for the most part. Most motherboards have htt 1, 2, 3, and 4 settings. Overclocking can be a pain in the rear and will take time. But again it is hard to help without knowing what kind of memory, and motherboard you are using. Ram, and ram dividers play a big part in a good overclock, along with keeping your ram, and processor cool. Good case ventalation is a must, and a good zalman heatsink on your processor is almost a needed thing, but I had my pc clocked for a long time without having a good heatsink and didnt limit my clock too much. Also if you know how, Flash your motherboard bios....... Most motherboards allow you too flash in windows which makes it a breeze to do!
  17. The iDA-X001 is a Media headunit, it was built around the ipod. It has NO cd player. WMA/MP3 are not cd's, It is a type of audio format... I mess around with that hu all the time at my buddys shop, and always charge my ipod from it because I dont have any cables for it. Its a great hu for $340.00 its hard to explain but its the only alpine hu that you can be playing a song from your ipod, and constantly be browsing for your next song you want to play (while the other song is still playing). Its all in real time, so as fast as you could manually search through your ipod for a song is as fast as you can search for it on your headunit. It also comes with the cables to hook up your ipod too it, you dont need to buy an additional ipod kit for it like other hu's. There is only 1 flaw I dislike about it, and that is the detachable face, only the left side of the face detaches, the part with the screen does not come off, but thats not too big of a deal really.
  18. LoL ^^^^^^ since when did geeks know how to make their cars boom??? All geeks are good for is buying pocket protectors...
  19. You can overclock dual cores, my buddys is oced to hell, altho I forget what his specs are. Its probolly not your cpu, most likely your ram speed maybe maxing out, your ram timings maybe to fast, your cpu and or ram might not be getting enough juice, you may have your htt set to low or too high. Its really hard to say. Overclocking takes time to get your computer too run stable. Id deff say to flash to the newest bios version on your motherboard. Id turn off the amd utilities such as aibooster or whatever if you have it. Id turn off every setting in bios that is set to auto such as voltages, multipliers, and what not. But it be better to know what motherboard, and ram you are using also.
  20. Most likely it is 4x25 watts rms Here is a apa430 and it is 4x30 watts. http://ampguts.realmofexcursion.com/PPI_Sedona_APA_430iX/ so that may give you a lil more info. EDIT: I just found this for ya. Maybe if there is a year on the amp this chart may help you out. I think its a pdf file but not sure. http://www.phy6.net/downloads/PPI/General/PPI_Lineage.pdf Good luck
  21. heh I just like how they are compairing them to DD, It makes me want to switch so bad..
  22. Anyone knwo anything about these? http://www.t3audio.com/core.mdv/TSNS.html seen a video on photobucket too and it was kinda interesting. http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y167/john...rent=T3vsdd.flv Ive seen it someplace else too but wasnt much talk on it.
  23. I heard sound but it was really quiet. Looks like it was sounding good tho! You should get an excursion vid!

I know peak isnt crap, but that is still nuts, and from what my buddy josh said they will take every watt and still be clean and clear. He said the cones on the mids are so thing that you can put one finger on top of the cone and the other on the bottom of the cone and still feel your fingers. Im really thinking I gotta check these things out and hopefully they are worth the money. I trust my buddy since he won multiable tropheys and has 1st place national trophies, but Im just trying to find out as much as i can before I go spending $1500+ on some comps.
  25. So then for the most part they stand behind their products? Like I said my buddy used them back in the day, but hasnt ran them in years. so I was just trying to find out if its worth the money or not. Thanks for the replys
