i went from a dc level 4 12 to 3 dc 8s. not much of a smaller box but i think it was worth it. the 8s were actually louder than 12 with less of power...800 watts at 2 ohms for the 12 and about 670 total at 2.67 ohms for the 8s
And check the speaker wiring. If you are running more than 1 per channel, then make sure they are not wired at too low of ohms. And check the voltage at the amp. You may need bigger wire with the watts you are trying to push. And then check your gains as stated above
I recently converted one of my buddies from JL to Sundown. He says, "I will definitely not go back." I sold his W1 12s in a probox and sold him my SA-15 and made him a box. "Best decision I have ever made," he claims.
Thank you everyone for all the birthday wishes! It really warms my heart knowing that yall took some time out of your day (even if it was only a few seconds) to wish me happy birthday.
I have a dc level 4 12 with level 5 dual 1.4 coils and a xl 12 with dual 2 coils. I am wandering if i can wire them together and have them in the same box? If so what would the ohm load be when wired together?
I talked to rusty and he said that they do pretty good in a box .7-.8. And with me using 5/8" mdf it will give me about .72 per sub after displacement minus a little bit for bracing. So it will be close to .7. And my cousin has four of these in a sebring coupe running on a saz1500 in a 2.8 box, which is .7 each. And was in the 140s
