i give mine the vfl 400.1 @ 2ohm (2600rms) so around 1300 each, and mine have never got any smell what so ever.... i mean i dont beat the piss out of mine, but i give them a work out, and i have never even smelled as little as glue burning off.... and i dont know why only one would get hot/warm and smelly..... maybe a faulty sub, or user use (no offense)... but like i said, i take a 35 minute trip (one way) to my moms once @ awhile, and i play them the whole way @ normal listening volume, and 1300each, and mine only get a little warm, if at all.... and thats 35minutes of straight playing... hope you get it figured out tho....

lol... ya i miss mine even tho it was only the 3.8...... that damn thing surprised me "for being a 3.8", i didnt think it'd have 1/2 the nuts it did, but damn when you needed to go, it went..... my buddy had a ls1 with a bunch of upgrades, that fucking thing threw me back every time... he was gonna help me do a swap on mine, till it took a shit and i sold it.... one day =), o one day=)
