  2. Takes practice. I am still learning too. I didnt have someone here to hold my hand and I did alright on my first box. Use trial and error aldo dont forget to add in sub volume
  3. why do you say this calculator sucks? its the best one ive ever used and its free, wtf more can you ask for? i dont understand how adding 1 piece of wood is too much work?... I too was having issues with the calculator but it was because I didnt know what I was doing and is what this guys issue is as well...Once I figured it out it made my life so much easier mainly because I suck at math... But I agree the program is the shit and way accurate
  4. if you have a 5"deep box and pour port is 8" long you will L your port. The first port wall will have to leave 2" from the back of the box to the end of the board then run another board in a L shape to make up the extra 5". This is a poor example but it works
  5. also did it change your net volume cause I did on my calculations.
  6. you will just have to L your port to make up the difference
  7. I ran into the same problem, had 32or so sqin of port then changed it around and got 48sqin of port and went from 33hrtz to 40 hrtz but the lows are so fucking stupid and moves a lot more air
  8. I got on facebook and saw this shit and was like WTF then after reading I realized this is indeed april fools day lmao....Good shit for sure
  9. you just have to cut that piece out for the port, and I would do port towards the trunk
  10. I have always loved JL, I have never heard DC but I hear their awesome. If I had the chance to try them I would for sure. Really a tough call
  11. I got it all figured out guys. I used the box calculator on here although Im not sure how to share my progress lol
  12. I did some measuring in the caddy and I am going to go with a 3.9ft^3 box which is 38"w and 17"t My question when does the depth come into play and how do I calculate it? Also I want to tune to about 30-32hrtz so how would I calculate the cubic inch for the port?
  13. How do you calculate port cubic inch and hrtz cause im gonna be building a box for the same sub
  14. How do you calculate port cubic inch and hrtz cause im honda be building a box for the same sub
  15. I dont mean to be a pest but I start back to school Tuesday and the next comp is saturday so I need to get started on this box. Anyone have any idea if Im working with the right size box or if I need to make a new one?
  16. With the right box you can do 145ish with one 12 one 15 ect....
  17. I figured out what the issue was in the wifes car. I faced the port towards the back and it made all the difference in the world so I am going to build her a new box with port back sub back. The box I am using now is 2.86ft^3 with 99.13in^3 port. I am sure this is not right so if someone can give me some advice on how to correct this I can begin building the box.
  18. Its a 2001 deville with the flip down center arm rest. I took out the 10" Bose sub and did not make a difference at all. I do not know exact dimensions of the box right now but can get them tomorrow. I doubt she will go for cutting holes in shit so idk what to tell her lol. Is it possible the port and sub not facing the same direction could be causing it? It would be so much easier to just build another box lol
  19. Anyone have any Idea? Could it be because the sub is facing back and the port is on the side?
  20. I installed a l7 15 in a ported box tuned to 32hrtz in the trunk of my wifes deville today. Its being powered by a ppi 1000d amp. Sub sounds good but when the trunk lid is opened it kills. Why would it sound so much better with the trunk lid opened? My wife is on my ass about this and I am looking for a quick response thanks
  21. I see no issue cutting the lip out as long as you primer the bare metal afterwards. I called around and couldnt find a shop that would do it or i would have went that route myself, hell they didnt even know what the fuck I was talking about when i asked if they could roll fenders.
  22. go with the 8" rims. I have 16x8 and 33" tires on my silverado and my silverado has a 5" lift and Looks great. 10" wide rims will for sure rub
