D3100 Under The Hood
mrrairai replied to mrrairai's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Before the module I would sit at 14.3 - 14.5 depending on the temp. -
I thought I couldn't do it but I made it happen. Pulled out the old yellow top and dropped in the D3100. I was gonna lay the battery down on its side but Dmanson stopped by and convinced me to at least try to set it up right. I removed the yellow top and stock battery tray and it sat it there. I added a Summit Racing battery tray and bolted the tray down to make sure this monstrosity of a battery doesn't move. Here's pics of the old yellow top and how small it is compared to the D3100 Here's pics of the D3100 sitting under the hood. Since it was a tight fit I put electrical tape over the positive terminal but if you notice the 0/1 gauge wire going into the ring terminals sit up higher than the Powermaster terminal and it does not touch the hood. I still want to find some type of plastic piece to cover the terminal tho. Once I was finished installing the batts I was chilling and drinking a beer and then the doorbell rang. It was the mailman with my missinglink module. So I was like what the hell. Went out and installed it. Pretty straight forward. This thing takes more time tying down the wires than it takes to install to the alt wire. Very good product. Here's the module Check out what the voltage is sitting at. Gotta love it.

You're absolutely right Chode. I remember when Fosgate used to do that. However, just because others do it don't make it right. I know one part of the lawsuit had powermaster stating that the other companies were giving out wrong info on their products. Just like a person can sue another person for slander why hate when a big company does it? Hell I don't like car audio company A but if A wants to sue B from falsely advertising A's products then I'm all for it. B can say all they want about their own but just leave A's name out of it. Phewwwwwwwwww

You should read details of the lawsuit. If you did I don't think you would "f the lawsuit". They are suing them because these other companies was putting out wrong info on their company. I don't think Pmaster give 2 shits of what Kinetik says that Kinetik can do. -

Wow!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't know that and I was on the Pmaster site yesterday. It seems that all they are trying to do is to get them to stop giving out bad info on their items. Gotta love PM. Now c'mon release the D3400 so I won't have to alter under my hood!! -

Why Not 6 Volt?
mrrairai replied to Unique Alternatives's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Which has more amps tho? Because if you run 6v batts in series then you're getting 12 v but not the amperage. -

If you're going kinetik go with the 1800. Although it might be overkill but you'll benefit for that extra power. -
