  1. That's what I was getting at as far as the heat was concerned and if it blocks a little more outside noise that's even better. Did you stick your HWP or does just lay on the headliner?
  2. I have a Nissan Cube and I want to deaden the roof and i was wondering if it would be effective to put a noise barrier ( which product to use too ) between the roof and headliner for noise and heat. If so would i attach it somehow or just leave free floating and same goes for doing in between the door/body panels.
  3. I could sit at the computer for hours looking on iTunes just listening to new and old stuff. As long as it appeals to me it really doesn't matter what type or genre it is. Especially if it sounds good cranked up!!!
  4. i spent 55 bucks on the Silverstar bulbs from Sylvania. Nice bright white too.
  5. I went ahead with my plan and got the Access line in coax for the back and comps for the front and I must say they sound amazing for "entry" level speakers. And I'm using the Rockford boosted rail 4 channel which the birth sheet says its doing 82 rms per channel but I think they could handle a t4004. They dont get super loud but it's a clean sound.
  6. Damn iPhone... Made a double post...
  7. But do you think focal are worth the money
  8. I'm also thinking about powering them with the Rockford boosted rail amp. Has anyone else used this amp yet?
  9. No, mine just have an in line crossover. basically the same set up as a coax speaker. not fancy at all.
  10. So I have a Nissan cube and decided to upgrade the speakers. It has spots in the A pillars for tweeters so i got components and I went with Alpine type s because they sounded good at the store ran off the same hu as mine (pioneer p4200 dvd). In the back I went with the coax versions and they are down in the bottom of the doors as well. First problem I notice is they are a lot more quiet than the stock ones (i think it's because the stock are 2 ohm). 2nd is the tweeter is so harsh sounding. So I am gonna scrap that idea and go with the Focal Access 165 A1's because it has tweeter adjustments at +3, 0, -6 and I think that will help and in the back i will use the coax versions as well. Really I'm looking for opinions about the Focals for my situation.
  11. I picked one up from sherwin williams and seems to be a good one. Plastic roller but sturdy with a wood handle
  12. I have been to Lowes and Home Depot and they don't have them. Does anyone have suggestions on what other type of stores might carry these. I would just order one but I need it sooner than later. Wood or rubber it doesn't matter.
  13. I appreciate your patience and help. I can do sealed boxes all day but when it comes to ported I feel like ripping my hair out.
  14. See I put 2.8 for the box size on the port calculator because dc's website says 1.25 per sub and I think it is .14 for the woofer displacement. So do I need to make the box a little bigger to account for the space the port takes up or should I leave it at 2.8
  15. So when you guys say port area, you just mean the width by height not width by height by length. And is the port calculator on the 12 volt fairly accurate (I have a mac so i cant use torres box calc)?
  16. I noticed that most of the slot ports seem to be about 4 inches wide or more. Is there anything wrong with going with a 1 or 2 inch slot port so that it doesn't have to be as long?
  17. I'm sure this has been answered but I tried to search all 38 pages but might have missed it. What is the reason for the difference in db on the tracks and also does it make a difference what your eq settings are on the head unit or should they be set to flat?
  18. How much space do you need to have between the magnet and and box. In my case I have level 2 12s
  19. The max dimensions would be 37 wide 13 deep and open to height and that is with subs and port up. And i guess if I were to fire and port back it would be 37 wide 10 deep ? tall
  20. So if I go 3 ft total, do I need to make the box a little bigger to compensate for the the port or is it 3 ft and leave it at that. Also can I still do a down firing box? And will going ported sound better in a hatch like my cube than a sealed box.
  21. Thanks I didn't see that! Geez! I know what the specs are but everyone always talks about how nice these subs can handle extra power. Thanks for the advice guys.
  22. I have a Rockford T5001 bd cp running my 12s and was wondering if thats enough power or could they handle a T1001 bd cp instead. The subs are dual 4 ohms running the amp at 1 ohm and the birth sheet has a 730 watt rms at 1 ohm.
