But I'm not sure if the factory harness has the option for a remote wire so the amp's not on constantly as it is a factory stereo..

I'm installing an aftermarket amp and two subs on a 2009 Pontiac G5 for a buddy, he wants to keep the factory desk and doesn't want to cut into anything factory and void his warranty. So far I have the wiring diagram, he still has to pickup the wiring kit, however my questions are for anyone who's done an install on a '09 G5: 1. Did you have to cut into the steering column to hook up the remote wire 2. Did you just use an RCA cord on the factory stereo's RCA line out jack right to the amp? 3. Any other tips for this specific car Thanks
