You don't need 2 inch thick wood for these subs. a 2 inch think baffle, sure, but make it .75 mdf or birch and build a smaller box. make your flares with concrete forms. it will be much easier

you didn't account for any bracing in the calc. fix the external port like suggested. also, there's not enough port area per cubic foot. shoot for 14-16 with those subs.

you don't NEED beefier subs for a wall lol. but if i was going through all that trouble to wall my car, i'd want a little wiggle room if i ever decided to upgrade power later on. that's just my opinion. i make no claims of factual information.

honestly most of how a sub sounds comes down to the box it's in. i got your dimensions. i'll look more into it tomorrow.. it's late lol. the sundown SA line would be a pretty good way to go too. a little more expensive than the obsidian, but the SA line has better cooling. should be a little more tolerant of abuse. either way you can't go wrong.

if you get the Dual 2 option. this would be a decent starter amp this would be a better amp.

neither one is "better" it's all about matching it to your amp. d4 can be wired down to 2 ohms to match a 2 ohm stable amp, or d2 can be wired down to one ohm to mach a one ohm stable amp. before you buy, i'd consider getting this sub instead of the alpine. it will take more power than the type R. just overall a better sub

do you already have the subwoofer? because you can get an obsidian 12" for less. it's a better sub too. if you already have the sub is it dual 4 or dual 2 ohm voice coils?

kenwood is decent low budget stuff. most of their amps don't do rated, and can't say much for their subs either, but if you've got such a small budget, just pick a sub and amp and build your own box. that's what will make all the difference.

i suppose if you're going to go through all the trouble of walling your car off, you might as well do it at the B Pillar. it's a lot louder that way. what car is this for?

so just for shits n giggles i designed a T-line enclosure for 4 15" FI Q's. someone suggested i do 18's, but that would be difficult to fit into any car. I'll give the specs out to anyone who's serious about building this. i'm really curious to see what this thing is capable of outside specs are roughly 3' x 3' x 6'

IMO separate chambers just eat up airspace. you probably won't hear a difference between a common and separate chambers. what are the outer dims of the box you have now?

you can get away with 12 sq inches of port with round ports. especially if you flare the ends. i would at least add some bracing to that box, or do a double baffle. those subs are heavy mofos. otherwise looks good
