  1. def not a steal
  2. 700 i'd consider
  3. you can get it new for about a grand. see if he'll come down a bit.
  4. agree with kranny. fitting 6 10's in a sedan is unrealistic. what are the max dimensions of your trunk? HxWxD?
  5. 32-35 should be good. reg cabs can be tricky though keep the volume right, that's the important thing.
  6. carpeting subtracts deeebeeez. you'll need to fill that gap before you carpet anything. maybe you could wrap it in vinyl. just an idear
  7. well that comes down to would you rather KNOW when you clip, or just GUESS. i bet you it would come in handy if you ever wanna be metered. you can actually know how loud you can safely play it. why pay thousands for a system and not get the most out of it?
  8. he's not being a douche, he's pointing out what i think to be is a huge flaw in logic. you've spent thousands on equipment but haven't invested $150 in making sure it all works properly? maybe i just don't understand here. are recones cheaper than a DD-1?
  9. You can't tune a sealed box... someone else wanna chime in with the right answer?
  10. i think this qualifies as a vs thread. vs threads are no-no's. more cone area is louder, but the difference in this case would pry be negligible. go with the cheaper option.
  11. It's not really that hard. you just have to put the port pieces in before you put the top on. not much different from a sealed box and at least half the price you paid for that box. i could've designed you a good box too.. but oh well. you should be fine with that box. looks ok for a prefab.
  12. how much are they charging for that box? you could probably make your own for a lot cheaper
  13. 3.75 net after displacements is not too small. but if they have some prefab plans, i'd ignore them. can you link us to what you saw?
  14. number of common port walls should be 2. and the box is too small make it taller like the first design, just make the port taller along with the box. i.e. the box is 15" tall, port should be 13.5" tall, 2 common port walls. if you're shooting for 1.5 cubes per sub, the box should be ~3 cubes net
  15. Uhh clipping? what subs? what amp? what's your electrical like? how did you tune your system? by ear, guessing, not at all, DD-1, O-scope?
  16. well.. yeah. but the OP specifically stated parallel in his post. and parallel has been proven to be louder than series.
  17. you can't wire two d2 subs in parallel to get 2 ohms. parallel > series so for that reason, 2 separate amps gets my vote. that being said, you probably won't hear the difference between the two.
  18. lol well yeah, i'm living in the dorms right now so i don't have a pot/cup to boil the water. but it would be a fun party thing sometime
