  1. So this guy at my school thinks he knows everything about car audio, or speaker brands. He came up to me today and asked what kind of sub I was about to hook up in my truck. I told him it was a DD 3515. He says "Oh that piece of shit brand? My cousin has two rockford fosgate punch 15's that will blow it out of the water" He claims that his cousin bought the box for the two 15's for $5000. Not 50, not 500, but 5000! He says he is running them off of 4 lunar 1200w amps and has three battery capacitors with stock electrical. I think this guy is just blowing smoke out his ass, but then again, idk. I know my sub is alot better than a RF Punch, but with twice the cone area, who knows. Im going to have a DD 3515 in a 5 cube box tuned to 35 hz running off of a aq1200. So what do you guys think will happen. Oh, and my vehicle is a Dodge Dakota club cab, his is a 2000 tahoe.
  2. Alright, thanks guys! I've never ordered anything online, and have no experience with knukonceptz/ wiring in general so that's why I was wondering lol. I may order like 20ft or so just to make sure.
  3. the xspower 3400 should be plenty to run the system you have.
  4. It does fit nicely, just looked at the pictures. Only reason I suggested selling it was because you said it shut off after 10min when trying to run at 1ohm... But this may be due to clipping as well, so if you stick with the MTX and want to run your sub at 1500wrms, make sure to set your gain properly.
  5. If I order 12ft or so, would it all come in one 12ft cable or would it be twelve 1ft cables?
  6. Well I don't have the amp yet, and don't have the sub in it's box yet, so maybe a rough estimate? I want to order everything at once if I can. The box is sitting on the back seat of a Dodge Dakota club cab and the amp will be sitting on the floor. And the SC stands for SuperCharged, look at my avy It's a new option they have, it's said to increase the efficiency of the motor or something, making it like the next line in the series (example would be SC3515=9515) but doesn't increase the power handling of it to that of the 9515.
  7. I don't have any speaker wire as of yet, so I guess I'm going to go with 10gauge! I don't know why I didn't think of KnuKonceptz lol, do you have an idea of how much wire I would need?
  8. If that's the case, I would actually sell your amplifier and get something along the lines of the Aq1200. It puts out 1200wrms of clean power at 1ohm, has a clipping indicator so you would be able to watch out for clipped signals that may damage your amp, and you would be sticking with the Aq family
  9. Well I've decided on what amp I'm going to run on my SC DD3515f. It's going to be the Aq1200, as it's the best amplifier in my budget and my electrical system can't handle much more. I'm planning on getting a 4gauge amplifier kit from KnuKonceptz, but I have no idea what wire to run from the sub to the amplifier. If I remember correctly the speaker wire from the 3515 is 10gauge, so would I need to run 10gauge from it to the amplifier, or would 12gauge suffice? Also, if anyone has a link to some 10gauge speaker wire, please post it As always, thanks for any information!
  10. It's daily driver mate And I would look to give them more power, around 3kwrms...
  11. I would definitely do Big3 first, because that amp isn't pushing the 2500w it says it is at 2ohms. You should clamp it to see the real power it's putting out... And honestly I don't have much experience with wiring, it's my least favorite thing about audio lol so I can't answer that question...
  12. In this video, the guy is running a HDC315 on the Aq1200, and it seems plenty powerful enough. Should I be able to expect this with my DD3515? Sorry for all the questions yall, just trying to get some information...
  13. This battery should do pretty good. And copper clad aluminum wire isn't as conductive as OFC wire.
  14. I believe a DC Lv2 8 can also compete with those. And I would go with the Dc lol... But out of your choices, i would get the Sa-8
  15. From what I've read on the Soundpressure forums, it doesn't increase the power handling. It increases the efficiency of the power the sub is getting... Like a SC DD3515 with 1200w will sound like a normal DD3515 on 1500w (just an example.) This could also be another factor in if I get the AQ1200 or not, because if it sounds like a normal DD3515 getting more than that, than it should sound fine... and i just added up the cost, if I went with the Aq1200 it would cost me about $310 to get it up and running, but if I went with the Aq2200 it would cost me about $725 to get it up and running, because I would have to upgrade my electrical. So it isn't as simple as saving another $100, another $400 is more like it... Plus I'm the one paying for all of this, even though it's what my brother wants, so I want to keep cost to a minimum... Can yall see where i'm coming from? I want to save and do it right, but he doesn't, and I cannot do this without him as we share the truck...
  16. I honestly want to, but then I would also have to upgrade my electrical to get the most power out of the 2200, and that would be costly. May do it though, considering anything
  17. I have a bad habit of changing my mind often, which makes planning my system hard to do. And also, running a single 3515 wasn't my plans, but my brother (were twins and building this thing together) wants to get the DD3515 we have now up and running to hold us out till we are able to get everything we need to run two 3515s (which I plan to give 1600w each). I know that it can handle much more power, but my budget is $300, and I cannot find anything better than the AQ1200 for that price. Also, my electrical system probably can't handle much as it's all stock. Like I mentioned, this is basically my brothers idea to run a single 3515, and so I'm trying to figure out what we can get for the money we have, though I would rather save up to get the complete system done, but that would take many months... But I would not run 2500wrms on my DD3515, I've read many things saying they can only handle about max 2000wrms daily... Honestly, I would love to get a Aq2200 to run this baby, but it's out of my budget and my brother being the stubborn person he is doesn't want to save any more, so please try and work with me guys
  18. I would like to know what your previous system was, you mention it sounding better than your new one. And can you please give us a budget to work with?
  19. I can't wait to see the outcome of it man, make sure to post up some pictures and videos Are you installing it yourself or getting it professionally done?
